Love at Sky Gardens

Watched it on UPtv last night. Pretty charming and funny. I thought the performances were good and the movie kept my attention. I found it to be better than most other Hallmark or Lifetime movies I've seen.

Surprising for me, I like it. For the courage to propose something little different. For acting. For good intentions, to.

Not a different Hallmark but provocative, in some measure, one. And this is the significant thing - to propose a nice story about passion, integrity, an eccentric couple and the work for their wedding, a garden on roof and a relation in which the partners are too differents for stay, after long time, together.

A honest film - this can be its basic virtue, fair- realistic perspective about work, loyalty and second chance in love, friendship and essential decisions.

So, obvious, a Hallmark. But just a good one. Serious !

The story is good. I can't think of another movie exactly like this one. The characters are fun. There was a definite positive vibe. But also some things seemed a bit off. I couldn't decide if it was acting, writing, or directing. It wasn't exactly bad. It just didn't seem to flow smoothly.

For one thing, both Deidre and Marcus had almost split personalities. The real Deidre was upbeat, talented and confident. She could take charge without hesitation. But then insecure Deidre would peak out every now and then. Marcus was almost the opposite but it was more like the insecure vs. Confident were more evenly split with him. In his case, at least his fiancé's influence might explain the negative side.

Viewers will enjoy the storyline and use of rooftop garden design to close sale with a couple wanting to buy a small wedding experience from Sky Events company which has a point person that does not understand customer request. The job interview scene featuring Dedra ( some of us have had interviews go that way which do develop us ) at beginning along with her relationship with supportive friend who encourages relationship with Marcus later was great. The characters of female boss ( Valencia) and the promotion competitor (Jacob) that works with Marcus were real enough but, the Wendy character ( she played her part of Marcus's girlfriend well but, a little over the top ). Those that witness ending will experience a real wow as real life 101 comes full circle complete with humor.. Dedra's supportive friend is awesome along with Marcus on being supportive of Dedra's goals and admitting he was wrong. Valencia finally recognizes Marcus's achievements and it is an all around great for those who enjoy love & romance. Sorry if I goofed and spoiled anything.

This movie is just plain awful. The acting from Bushell is good. The acting overall is really bad. It's sort of cringeworthy.
