Sister Krampus

Yikes! Where to start? I had to skip past parts it was so bad. The use of generic iMovie sounds was very distracting. Makes very little sense. The acting is bottom of the barrel. Which is fine for this level of filmmaking. The absolute worst part is that they replay the first ten or so minutes of the movie later on in the movie as a type of flashback I guess? Talk about padding out your run time, that's a sure fire way to do it! "Hey it's only like 55 minutes, what do we do? Wait let's replay an entire segment from the beginning! Genius!". Effects were not good either. This one is by far the worst "Krampus" movie I've seen! And there's some real garbage out there.

Sister Krampus starts out well enough with All-lied war criminals discussing their off-screen rape of an Austrian nun. These scum are American and not Soviets as you'd expect. Either way they'd have made Ehrenberg proud. They all wear mismatched uniforms that don't fit very well. Pretty soon they are dispatched somewhat gorily by a demon. There's a decapitation and a face and neck ripping both of which are pretty weak. Unfortunately this is about all the gore we'll see in this under 80 minutes movie. We then get two unattractive sisters in modern day Austria who end up staying in a house near the nunnery where the atrocity was commited. Strange things start to occur and it's up to them and the woman they are staying with to stop the evil. We are also treated to an extended version of the scene with the soliders from the beginning. For some reason Krampus and the sister's demonic spirit have joined forces. There's also a zombie helper who was one of the soldiers from the beginning. He has a cheap but gruesome looking mask on being about the only "gory" stuff outside of the opening. The final battle is very underwhelming. The movie has a goofy and happy ending. After the opening I thought this would be a cheap but gory horror with Sister Krampus ripping lots of people apart. Instead it was bogged down by lots of dialogue and what action happened later on was uninteresting. The horror wasn't scary or really very interesting. There's a few familiar Polonia faces here which was nice but the film just never really went anywhere. It's at least much better than Alien Surveillance and Dune World.

On location in Europe, a pair of sisters touring the area for the holidays arrive at a small village where they learn the legend of Sister Krampus and her connection to a fabled beast feared in local folklore, and after realizing there's a deadly connection to one of them must try to stop its influence from spreading.

Overall, this one was much better than expected. One of the better elements here is the solid and straightforward storyline that generates some intriguing setup. As the flashback to the WW II setup shows the connection to the creature with the disgraced nun, which allows for a fun tie-in with the modern-day interactions with the sisters visiting the area as the local folklore bringing in a series of intriguing connections to their trip as seeing the local reactions to the sister falling under the influence has a fun starting point. Following this setup, there's a lot to like here with the setup involving the search for answers to this unnatural behavior. The behavior of the affected sister brings about the discovery of the connection brought up earlier and the fateful encounter with the cursed being for a rather fun sequence. The psychological torments and trauma here keep this going until the final confrontation which has some enjoyable back-and-forth verbal sparring that plays into the finale which touches on a whimsical conclusion alongside the bits of gore to give this a lot to like. There are some big flaws to this one. One of the bigger issues here is the rather stilted pacing that comes about due to the first half being more of a psychological possession than a creature feature, as seeing her succumb to the effects without getting to the creature action. That leaves this light on creature action until the final few minutes so it's missing not only the typical confrontation but also the usual gore which might be a big issue as much as the typically obvious low-budget issues all too common here which are the factors keeping this down.

I cant think of 1 redeeming quality. The acting would have been done better by high school students. There is no scenery. Although the sisters look like they are in their 40's they act like annoying teenagers. The main event to keep me watching was for them to get hacked up. Because it was so bad every little thing bothered me. The sister asks for milk which is conviniently already in a glass under counter? She couldnt even get milk from fridge lol. Then really sick sister eating soup and other sister tastes soup with same spoon. Who does that!? If my sister is sick i'm not eating of her spoon.

I read another review that said "although the sisters looks like they are in their 40's they act like annoying teenagers." Some how I feel that quote sums up the entire movie. Its full of bad acting, too much dialogue, and its overly lit for a movie trying to set dark horror mood. It looks bad, the costumes are lesser than Party City quality.

The movie doesn't know if its trying to be a horror or comedy the tone, if any, shifts all the time and very sudden. At best its like a very bad episode of the kids show Goosebumps at much much lesser quality.

If you told me it was written and directed by 8tyh graders then I could understand this level of film making but I have seen better but 5th graders with plush dolls.

Watching till the end felt like a punishment.
