Let's focus on the content and the material of the show instead of the host. Television is just that. The suspennsion of disbelief. As a survivor of true crime, I can tell you that if these people are like me, they do not want to relive the experience by talking about it with her or anyone else. I have been approached several times to tell my story and I don't want to relive it. Focus instead on the miscarriage of justice and what you can do to prevent these things from happening to you or your loved ones and pray that you don't end up like me or the survivors on the show. Bottom line if you don't like the show ok simple! Don't watch it.
In each episode, you get to hear true villains and sociopaths try to justify the harm they do to others, many times without a sense of self-awareness.
It reminds me of The Act Of Killing (2012), where Indonesian death squad members try to go about normal life, even though they committed genocide a generation earlier.
The interviewee's aren't debating with Jena Friedman, they're debating with the elephant in the room and Friedman is just picking out ridiculous inconsistencies.
Sorry if the "I love true crime, but this...." critics don't get it. There is no appreciation for "the process". Many of these people got away with their crimes. This show is about the crazy things obvious criminals tell others after the fact. It's very real and dark.

If you're looking for something that tries to solve a case or uncover the truth this isn't really for you. Jena interviews lawmakers and lawyers in such a way to make a joke out of their ignorance. She's like a smart Borat. She really tries to show how these men- lawmakers and lawyers- have really done society and in particular women and minorities wrong. It's so liberating to see these men being exposed for their flagrant misogyny. It's a very relatable and resonating show. As for the comments saying they need a new host, I think maybe they just don't find the show as liberating and relatable as I do.
Wow! Look at all the hate to the host!
It's rather gross. Jenna Friedman is interested in the insane injustice that is prevalent in our legal system. These are slightly satirical because each episode topic is so infuriating! There has to be a bit of relief from how shocking some of this is. She's not doing it in a super feminist or a bleeding heart liberal way. Why on earth would so many true crime fans hate her!!? She's having a bit of fun in some of her interviews. Sometimes it is uncomfortable when she is direct, but she has asked the hard questions to famous legal celebrities that I want them to answer!
This is a great show. It's so entertaining. I wish these episodes were much longer and in-depth.
I couldn't believe the aggressive hate for a 20min, 13 episode show that is meant to poke at some real insanity in our current justice system. This is a show that exists only in the mind of the host. It was her idea, so how can you get rid of the host when you like the show? Obnoxious women on women hate is what I'm getting. Also probably some pro-defense bias, too.
It is just so sad how many ppl missed the whole point of the show due to their trite pettiness/female jealousy/ political belief bias.

I really hope this show continues to air. I have read the negative reviews and I think that the negative reviews stim from people who don't get sarcasm. She is blunt, honest to the point that puts you on the spot. It is refreshing to see her ability to be direct and put a hilarious sarcastic spin on the interviews. I was born and raised a smart butt, after my dad. It is a fabulous quality and socks that most people can't handle it. People need to just relax and enjoy her! Watching the facial expressions, stuttering, scrambling to make excuses for why they didn't do their job well. It's about time someone had the nerve to say it on TV. My favorite crime show ever! Thank you Jena!
