The main female character over-acts. Maybe it would be fine if this was a stage play instead of a movie, albeit TV.
I don't believe that she is a famous designer. At most, a small town sewer, if that.
I don't get any chemistry vibes with the male lead, but for sure absolutely NO chemistry with the Jean Luc character. He is not a good actor and he puts on a horrible French or whatever accent he's supposed to have. It seems like he's no intentionally doing a comedy skit parody of a suave foreigner. The only thing is, it's not supposed to be a parody!
On the other hand, the male lead character DOES have a real French (Canadian) accent, but is trying to hide it, which, unfortunately, gets in the way of his acting. It feels forced and stiff. I didn't believe his character as a writer or a Dad.
They probably should have switched the 2 main male actors to play each other's roles. However, it's likely that the actor playing Jean Marc could NOT carry the lead, let alone the supporting role he had. He's a good looking guy who should stick with modeling and use the money he makes, for acting lessons.
I really couldn't get past the bad accents and bad acting. I got bored watching. I left off and picked up again about 5 times...and only kept turning it on again just to see if there was some redeeming reason to watch. There wasn't. Just a total waste of time...and I have watched and enjoyed my share of kitchy, light movies...
