Hei ying di gu dao

A guy on a horse stops at a shack and finds two skeletons that seemed to have died in a knife fight. There is also a shadowy figure. He leaves with a box. Two men were about to rob him but stopped. They enter the shack and the shadowy figure kills one of them. Our guy is attacked in the woods by a gang with a dwarf. He returns home. Little sister is there. He has returned father's bones and they go for revenge and to find the lost treasure he guarded. Actually they go to eat and then a lot of more characters enter the story.

The shadowy figure returns and starts killing everyone in town. That costume is by far the worst ever. It is ugly and laughable. I must give the stunt man or stunt men credit. Wearing that huge head had to make doing martial arts stunts nearly impossible. How could he even see? Nevertheless the stunts were excellent.

The ladies in this movie with the hair and the costumes, though never nude, were perfect eye candy. I would watch it again for that reason alone.

My copy was a pleasant surprise in widescreen with Chinese and English hard subtitles. It may have been from a laser disk. The print was not restored and is quite scratchy in places but the wide screen was a pleasure and rare in these movies.
