If you love dancing, especially in musical films, this is an absolute must see film for you. Every number was an obvious love letter to the film it represented. I loved the variety of numbers too, because it didn't just concentrate on one style of dance and music. Oftentimes we will get features similar to this that seem too long, but in this case the only thing that I wanted was for it to be twice as long. There are so many iconic dance numbers from past films that they could easily have a sequel, and I would be among the first to tune in. Even the guest performers did an excellent job with their singing and dancing. Two thumbs sky high for this amazing show.
On the heels of the series "The Real Dirty Dancing"---which was a competition designed to celebrate the now-iconic film---comes this offering from Derek and Julianne Hough. "Step Into" is a re-creation of many classic movie dance scenes, and it succeeds wonderfully.
The brother-sister team, as producers and stars, have created a beautiful tribute to the dancing of "Singin' in the Rain" and "Saturday Night Fever", among others. The production values are high. The cinematography and editing are beautiful. And the dancing itself is superb. Derek and Julianne surpassed my expectations.
I have only two complaints: I would have enjoyed a classic Astaire-Rogers dance number. And some of the dances were so good, I wanted them to continue. Well, you can't have everything. But I hope this production was successful enough that they come back with another, longer tribute that is even better.
Special mention to Kenny Ortega who, besides lending his credibility, displayed such emotion and enthusiasm for the project that it was touching.

This is very rushed. It packs so much into 42 minutes, so many classic dances. I would have loved them to be complete without truncating the songs. There stuff between the dances is also largely a load of fluff. But the passion that the Hough's have for these great classic dance works is palpable and it is enjoyable experiencing them along with them. Dirty Dancing for the finale was the highlight. Definitely worth a watch.

My only complaint... not enough of it ! Could probably fill several hrs. Of iconic movie dances :) there are so many wonderful dances & dancers on film I just wanted it to go on and on . I could have watched it for hours ! It was the best feel good thing on television in a long long time ! It's not fair to require 150 characters for a response when " just Fabulous " or " the best thing on television " or " very worth the watch" or any number of phrases or words could sum up what a great program this was it was just way to short !
What kind of car were they driving going to the directors house? It looked like it was a futuristic car. And probably electric. Really cool................
