This Spanish-American science-fiction action flick owes a lot to Stephen King's book Firestarter, with its shadowy government agency creating people with psychic powers, but it also has elements of Inception, Scanners, The Fury and The Matrix to flesh things out, so yeah, this isn't the most original movie out there but the script constantly keeps you guessing as it layers double-crosses on top of alternate realities and implanted memories so that it hardly matters what's actually going on, it's just a lot of fun.
Overall, Daniel Benmayor's Awareness is a frenetically fun espionage thriller with science fiction trappings and some really well-choreographed action sequences that make this film an easy one to recommend.

I understand that people have different preferences and standards for quality, but it's important to consider the kind of expectations you have when watching a movie.
This film offers a decent experience with a script that includes some unexpected twists, but it might not live up to everyone's standards. The production values are good, with nice effects and direction. The lead actor does a fine job, contributing to a narrative that's engaging enough for a casual watch. It's important to set appropriate expectations; if you're hoping for a groundbreaking sci-fi epic, this might not be it. Overall, it's a fair movie, worthy of about a 6.5/10. It won't blow you away, but it's a reasonable choice for a relaxed movie night.

Welcome to the other side. I didn't know anything about this movie but the basic description I read, made it sound like a sci-fi movie I would like.
You can tell right away that the movie wasn't going to win any awards, and you could tell that it didn't have a ton of money invested in it, but it had a very cool concept. The kid has the ability to make people see what he wants them to. He basically creates illusions that others people see.
The kid and his father figure partner decide to use this awesome ability to steal booze from a liquor store, but the kid loses concentration or something and the illusion dissolves before they get to far, and they have to run.
If I had this gift, I wouldn't be stealing booze, I'd be heading to Vegas or heading to a bank to cash this certified cheque for 10 million, etc.
Anyways, the movie was good enough to keep me watching, but it could have been so much better. It's been a week or so since I watched it, and I don't remember much about it. The evil company sent a "perceiver" after the kid, who is basically a guy that has the same ability as the kid, but is way more experienced at using his gifts than the kid. He kind of acts like the Terminator.
So to sum this up, the movie was just okay. They had a great idea, but they didn't do much with it. I just don't understand what's up with writers these days, but they all seem just terrible. Even when they are asked to do a remake of a movie, so they have the original movie to draw ideas from, they still create a shyt script.
It's definitely worth watching once though.

Storyline revolves around an innocent guy with an unknown past whose super-powered. Captured by perceived bad guys, he's aided by the usual pretty girl, and a suave guy from the shadows. Dear old Dad is a stereo-typed drunk who boasts advice, but ignored. And there's a naughty evil acting girl too. The plot is to find the secret to those super-powers, with lots of collateral damage in various battles. A few too many characters from a hundred different movies, but its one of those B-grade movies which plays out quite well, and well worth a watch, even if it is almost 2 hours.
As its becoming common with todays syfy movies, this one is a good concept, nothing new or too original, but entertaining enough to watch, and never too slow. Spanish in language, but fine with subtitles or dubbing if you're English speaking.

The concept is interesting, but the execution is confusing. It really comes down to whom do you root for? During WWII, there was a secret program to create people who could make other people see things that are not there, and also control them. After the war, those people were no longer needed, so there was an extermination campaign, but some escaped. So there seems to be two sides, but neither side seems totally good nor totally bad and who is really right? We meet early on Ian and his father. Ian can make people see things that are not there, so that is ideal to pull off petty crimes to get things without getting caught. And Ian's father wants to keep things low level, as he knows there are those hunting for Ian, so don't draw attention. But Ian wants to live a normal life, and soon gets discovered. So both sides are after him. There are some well choreographed fight scenes, some with a high body count. But things get confusing, who do you trust, and besides, few of the characters are difficult to care about. And that is the real flaw.
