Unfortunatelly , I do not know the text by Horacio Quiroga. But I love the film for the nice craft of storytelling, for characters and for the honest manner to reflect the steps of ill of Alicia, for house and, sure, for the answer about the state and death of the lady of house.

Sure, the atmosphere is the basic virtue and the flavors of old fashion stories.

Horror seems to strange to define it . It is one of beautiful expressions of South American gothic, in admirable manner. A story about ambiguity of danger, about love of a couple, about a cold becoming something just unknown for the doctor and about a smart version of one of traditional myths healing the Gothic literature of last two century.

In short, just admirable.
