I sat down to watch the 2023 crime thriller "Double Life" after having read the synopsis and found it to be somewhat interesting. I hadn't heard about the movie prior to sitting down to watch it though.
Writers Michael Hurst and Chris Sivertson put together an amazingly generic, montonous and slow paced narrative for director Martin Wood to bring to the screen. The storyline in "Double Life" was so slow paced that it was a struggle to sit through it, and the fact that nothing interesting happened, just made it even more mind-numbing to sit through the ordeal. The concept of the storyline sounded interesting, for sure, but the execution from script to screen was just horrible.
I wasn't familiar with the cast ensemble in "Double Life", aside from actor Niall Matter, and he was hardly even in the movie. The actresses and actors in the movie, however, had very little contents to work with and bring to the script in terms of script, storyline, characters and dialogue.
If you enjoy crime thrillers, then do yourself a favor and don't waste 89 minutes on the generic movie that is named "Double Life". There are far better crime thrillers out there.
My rating of "Double Life" lands on a three out of ten stars.
