Jonah: The True Story

Each of Miguel the Skeleton's names, besides his first, was chosen intentionally by the writers after deciding to make his name a acronym.

Ezma was a nod to the writer's favorite animated comedy The Emperor's New Groove(2000).

Trejo comes from a character from another Huntington University comedy short film called Idle(2019).

Anstice is a Greek name meaning resurrection, a fitting name for a walking Skeleton.

Patricio was the name of the directors favorite manager at the job he was working at while writing. Much of Jonah speech pattern, subtext and mannerisms were influenced by Patricio as well.

Henry was chosen after a lengthy conversation between filmmakers, in which the director defended "plain" named characters in film. His opponent claimed that every name should have "as much weight as a Tolkien novel." To prove his point, he decided to name a Mexican Skeleton "Henry".

Oh'canada comes from a famous line from Deadpool(2016), another large source of inspiration for the filmmakers. The Canada part was also intentionally misspelled so that it could be included in the name.

Richardo was the sir name of the directors best friend growing up.

Esqueleto is Spanish for Skeleton. This was Miguel's original name, but the writer's felt like it was personal enough, and changed it to Miguel per the Cinematographer's suggestion.

Miguel the Skeleton is credited as Miguel Ezma Trejo Anstice Patricio Henry Oh'canada Richardo-Esqueleto.
