The actors are really good. I usually don't like to watch Swedish shows because of their bad acting but they have evolved and they really picked out right actors for this show. I didnt like that it was so dragged out. 5 or 6 episodes would have been enough. Some scenes felt a bit too repetetive. However, what I did enjoy was the depiction of the actors' feelings and fears. It felt real. When the heist scenes went on, I really felt the tension. The camera angles, the music.. it made everything look epic.
The actors' lines felt realistic too. Not too rehersed. You could really feel and see how their personalities changed from first to last episode. They became robbers. Criminals. They portrayed that flawlessly.

Phenomenally well done. Actors are beliavable, the score helps build the drams and anguish lead character feels. Being Swedish I remember this robbery well, it was quite the story in the media and kind of the end of the Yugoslavian mafia running Stockholms underworld.
WHY DOES A REVIEW HAVE TO BE 600 WORDS, EPISODE 1 WAS BETTER THAN EPISODE 2 WHICH WAS WORSE THAN EPISODE 4 BUT BETTTER THAN EPIOSDE7 WHICH IN TURN WAS SLIGHTLY BETTER THAN EPISODE 3, BUT EPISODE 5 WAS BETTER THAN EPISODE 2 AND EPISODE 8 WAS TO PLACEMENT OVER 2. WHICH EPISODE WAS BEST ACCORDING TO ME - EIGHT HUNDRED CHARACTERS...

I really liked this series based on real events. It is very exciting and in each episode the tension rises more and more.
It's not simply about the robbery it's about relationships, economic pressures, loyalty and desperation that lead individuals to extraordinary measures, rather than glorifying the criminal deed.
The emotional heart is family, and sometimes the family history is a little dense and can distract from the main theme, although it didn't bother me, because the plot has a lot of potential and it is very gripping.
The performances are brilliant and the plot is very well built. Don't miss this one!

This series got my heart pumping and my blood pressure so sky high I nearly soiled myself by the end of episode 6. Seriously.
I've seldom watched a more perfectly casted, acted, filmed, and written series. In many such heist dramas, the buildup to the actual event is lame and predictable. Not so in 'The Helicopter Heist', with incredibly beautiful, meaningful themes of expectation, familial obligation, duty, love, and dissappointment following the major characters all the way to their anticipated jackpot. The event itself - as well as various other points throughout the series - was filled with energy building scenes dripping with dramatic irony, drawing out the tension beyond all reasonableness, making the audience sit on the literal edge of their seats wondering when certain events would transpire.
In short, I was thoroughly entertained and satisfied by this series and I highly recommend it.

I have always had a hard time watching Swedish productions as a Swede. This time, I felt like almost everything was well executed. Acting was mostly great, cast was up to the mark, script was of a high standard and the plot was, besides being predictable (obviously), really captivating. Just great.
I really think they managed to overcome the "problem" of choosing a side here. Who do I really want things to go well for? You ended up in some sort of middle ground that followed during the course of the series, which I was content with.
Something that I felt was a little off was the team of detectives, or whatever they are supposed to be called. They did not exude direct competence. Everyone but Leonie felt rather uninterested in the whole case. She had to come in as a savior in times of need a little too often, even when it came to things that felt relatively obvious. But maybe that is how it all went down, what do I know?
Overall, I really enjoyed the series. It was captivating and offered details, which I believe happened in reality, and which had not been heard of before. I think it is worth seeing for everyone, not just Swedes who have pre existing knowledge of the case.
