Sharkers

Thoroughly enjoyed this captivating, wonderfully silly film. Sharkers is low budget indie film making at it's very best; a fast paced, hallucinatory thrill ride.

With an incredible cast and some particularly memorable, unhinged performances from Neal Ward and Patrick Chamberlain, Sharkers follows jilted lover, Franky (played brilliantly by Niki Burton) on single night of increasingly absurd debauchery - incidentally the structure of this reminded me a little bit of my favourite kid's book, 'Fortunately', by Remy Charlip...but with a lot more ketamine) - building to a crescendo of blood and neon.

Very unexpected, I've always appreciated a movie like this a really fun adventure. It definitely hit my funny bone. I noticed posts about it so I gave it a chance and laughed through more than half of it. The soundtrack also had me nodding the tracks bumped. Then I realized Neal Ward was in this if you're unsure of who he is watch Feed Me and Hosts after this one. The director is also one of the main characters and did a great job as well hilarious IMO . If I had one complaint it would be to put more money into practical gore besides that it's all good. If you want to see a bunch of SOV type blood, drugs, brutal Brits, hooligans and teeth coverings this may be the movie your looking for. Yes I recommend this movie.

I literally have NO idea where to even start with this one, and depending on your tastes, that might be a very good thing. First, let me just say that this film is NUTS. The scenarios are are way beyond what most of us will ever see or experience, that's for sure. What starts off as a simple request for a little sexual adventure turns into a fever dream of drug-fueled debauchery and mania. The lead character, a rather dim people-pleaser finds himself in all manner of icky, tawdry, weird, and dangerous. The film is populated with unsavory characters who act out in ways that make complete sense or no sense at all, and let's just say the artificial blood budget must have been robust. So this is how I see this movie - you're at an underground rave. X and ketamine and cocaine is ubiquitous. Sweaty bodies writhing on the dance floor, sexual energy flows like Niagara Falls. And this movie plays on the big screen overlooking the club, inspiring guests to bring peak insanity to the festivities. And that's "Sharkers". Stuart Gordon would be proud.

Sharkers is a film that will blow your mind. It is an emotional rollercoaster that I did not want to end. I love it's grittiness and style. It kept me on the edge of my seat. Incredible production and well cast. It's tongue in cheek and has some scenes which make you question your life and your reality. Absolutely mind blowing. It's very funny. It's weird and has the feeling of trip. You might not enjoy it, but it'll blow your mind and change your vision. A timeless film that transcends the norm. This film isn't here to make friends, it's here to make you startle you and shake you to your core. I love it. Bravo.

A whirlwind of sex, drugs, chaos, and a whole lot of questionable decision-making. You think you're ready for what's coming next? Think again. The movie drags you along like you're on a rollercoaster that was designed by a madman who really loves neon lights, bizarre hallucinations, and fake blood.

As the night spirals deeper into madness, so does the plot. It's not so much a descent into self-destruction as it is a freefall into a hallucinogenic funhouse where reality keeps twisting into new, wilder shapes.

Sharkers is like watching someone play out every bad post-breakup decision you've ever considered - except with way more drugs, weird trips, and moments of "Wait, is this really happening?". It's an experience that leaves you breathless, confused, and somehow craving more.

A solid cinematic experience considering the budget. 7/10.
