The first episode is good, going into detail on the heist and aftermath as well as bring up popular theories and lines of inquiry. Then the series snowballs into conspiracies, ambushing suspects, and people with no credentials enjoying hearing themselves talk.
The case of DB Cooper is one of great mystery and intrigue. What confused me was the objective of the series, is it to investigate the actual case or showcase the people who have dedicated their lives to end up nowhere close to definitively proving anything? Could have been a decent 90 minute movie instead of four episodes with an incoherent structure and rambling testimonies from the 'cooperites'.
To start, some aspects of this documentary are indeed well-made. I actually enjoyed this series but for reasons entirely different than the idea that Tom Colbert "uncovered" the identity of D. B. Cooper.
This show highlights how obsessions and conspiracy theories can twist people into being... some kind of parody of themselves? How it can lead these kinds of people into harassing others?
It showcases how Tom Landry, a truly bizarre guy in denial over hearing the words "I'm not D. B. Cooper," from his person of interest, continues to reject reality.
It's pretty disturbing but entertaining to see how someone can distort all the facts running counter to their beliefs, in order to make them conform to their delusions.
Don't recommend watching this, unless you'll enjoy watching someone delude themselves?

This is just about a bunch of guys hooked on an opinion on who DBCooper is.
The worst thing about it is the harrassement of Mr. Robert Rackstraw.
What an utter embarassement!

In November 1971, an audacious man hijacks a plane, and escapes with a fortune using a parachute.
I'll be honest, I was enthralled by episode one, the story itself is fascinating, romantic and bold, almost James Bond like, however, episodes two, three and four, offer nothing, other than conspiracy theories, it's such a huge disappointment.
Very slick visuals, good music, but ultimately the series is vacuous, it's all just window dressing.
I loathed the way that Rackstraw was hounded and pursued. He had a checkered past, but I was not ok seeing a man of advanced years treated in such a way.
Some of those interviewed here, I actually felt a little sorry for, worryingly obsessed, the kind of people that see conspiracies in every corner. I think it's plain to see there are some very unhealthy obsessions at play here. Coopercon, I think my jaw dropped. If that's your thing, you may enjoy it, some of the opinions expressed were a little embarrassing.
