The animation of Rosemary A. D. (After Dad) is delightful, unlike anything I have ever seen. It made me immediately engaged in an extremely important topic.
The topic is heartwarming to see a Dad put his child high above his deepest emotions and consider her future as the utmost importance.
The film is awakening because it puts parental mental health at the forefront. People do not talk about it much. This film MAKES people talk by its unique and moving presentation. I think is it going to help many Moms and Dads who struggle with depression seek the help they need.
I am going to remember this film and recommend it to others. Grateful for this creation.

I watched this at the ciff this year, I didn't know what it was about but I like the animating style
The way the director goes in INSANE detail about every scenario and every reaction there is to have and every emotion and just very accurately describes how it's like to want to not exist but doing it anyway cause life doesn't totally suck and the love is too strong, hanging on this very tiny light. It is amazing.
I wish the director could see how the whole audience was laughing and then going silent again and then tearing up and then clapping their hearts out after it was over.
I left with tears, very inspired and incredibly moved as an animator and storyteller.
Changed something in me, beautiful piece of art.

The film Rosemary A. D., was moving, appropriate and necessary. Depression has been swept under the carpet far to long.
The film expressed that if you go through the right steps and prioritize your wellness you have a stronger chance of rising above the cloud of depression.
The drawings made the film come to life were impressive and heartfelt. The love for Rosemary was close to the surface during the entire film.
The film had a pertinent subject matter about depression. Most of us know someone or have been affected by depression in some manner. The subject of depression needs to be heard by all.

One always wonders "what would have happened", if one did not exist, like George Baily. This is is a both sad and sweet imagining of what a child might be like without her father. In the end, it is as much HE who needs her as the other way around. It is about how children change our lives and how parents influence and mold theirs. Without being too smarmy. If one is a parent, this will have you thinking of your own relationship with your children.
The crayon animation fits well with the subject of a small child. It flows smoothly, and though interesting in itself does not detract from the story. The illustrator should get a thank-you note from Crayola, as there must have been thousands of drawings.

This is an incredibly well constructed animation, which I haven't seen in a very long time. I was fortunate enough to be part of the audience to listen to his journey on creating this and it was very inspiring. I have seen his earlier works that are similar to this and it is amazing how much he has improved since his early days. He has a works that are similar to this and it is amazing how much he has improved since his early days. He has an incredible talent to share a story as well as the creativity in the production. The pace, and the development of the story was perfectly set and kept me captivated to wonder what happens next in each scene. Also, I believe one of the most important part of the short is the story, the inner struggles of the father and how He overcomes by seeing the bigger picture in life. There are a lot of elements in this story that I can relate as a father, which I greatly appreciate.
