These guys are pretty cool. They're personable, relatable, and sometimes straight up hilarious. They manage to get some crazy big guests every few weeks. They provide great commentary on the games industry and valuable insight into the games themselves. One week, Lucy was bald and had a mustache. And a few weeks later, she's got her signature messy hair and bangs again. She also has a pretty distinct taste in cozy games, and has given me some great recommendations. Ralph is a very tall tennis guy and Jake always volunteers pizza. It's not easy, and they usually go for well over an hour and most of the time, over two hours. Incredible value for the time you'll spend listening. I strongly recommend the Friends Per Second podcast.
A top tier podcast that any video game lover will be sure to enjoy.
Lucy, Ralph, Jake have brilliant discussions about video game news and releases with every new episode, that keep you both engaged and entertained. If you don't know any of the hosts going in, l'd be surprised if you don't fall in love with their personalities & banter pretty quickly.
It's clear that the 'Friends' part of the podcast name isn't just for show. Even when someone is absent the guest hosts that have popped up are also delightful.
On the topic of guests, the interviews that have been had on this podcast are all incredible. I may even say a highlight.
Excellent conversations with notable people within the gaming industry, each providing amazing insight and shedding light on the industry as a whole. Without a doubt one of my favourite podcasts.

Great chemistry and well-informed hosts, Ralph, Lucy, and Jake are a pleasure to hang with.
I love the behind the behind the scenes stories from their different experiences in games journalism as well as their obviously love for the art form of video games.
As an avid follower of SkillUp, Ralph was the initial reason I started watching, but I soon came to greatly appreciate Lucy James and Jake Baldino's different perspectives and tastes. They do not shy away from disagreeing, and those conversations can be some of the most illuminating for me.
Their interviews with game developers are also some of my favorites out of any video game podcasts.

Jake, Lucy, and Ralph's bi-weekly podcast, Friends per Second, is an absolute gem. This excellent trio frequently feature interviews with a variety of prominent gaming figures, discuss the gaming news, movies, and shows. But I think the most interesting thing about this podcast is the camaraderie between the trio. In my job I am often stuck at my desk for about 11 hours out of the day and every other week becomes really special when this podcast goes live, I just wish there were 9 more bi-weekly so I wouldn't go without. Every other week I come back for another episode and I'll keep coming back.
The hosts are extremely relatable, the show is informative and interesting, and Skillup is singlehandedly (with Austin and Stu's guidance) working to make the internet useable again. They strike a perfect balance between informing on games / other media worth your attention and deeper dives into the games industry. It's the perfect background listen and I even find myself watching the video from time to time. I got back into gaming after over a decade, and Skillup's channel was extremely helpful in handling the overwhelming amount of info about games, different genres, etc. Every recommendation they have made that I have taken has been a hit for me and the show really feels like it's just gamers talking about games rather than writers or journalists who happen to work for a gaming focused media company. Love the show, stoked about the website. I can't wait for the next episode of yesterday's news today, because other gaming orgs trying to be first rather than good has ruined almost all games news and this show really does go back to the basics in the best way.
