Taskmaster

Love it, being from the UK I love Aussie humour, actually only managed to find season 4 on youtube so far, just got to episode 5, happened upon it as I ran out of all free uk taskmaster.

This unhinged banter between the contestants is what the uk one lacks sometimes, but that's the charm of Australian humour! And the two Toms just work perfectly!!

I've read the US version reviews and it's totally put me off that, but at least I know what to expect there!!

I want to give all ten stars but Ive noticed the final task is cut quite a bit and theres no shots of the audience, it's just a little thing that the uk one flows better with. Otherwise, pure awesome!

Tom Gleeson is the perfect host for this Australian version of Taskmaster, every time I watched the English version I hoped for our own with Gleeson and they delivered. Tom Cashman does a great job as well as Tom's assistant, brining a quirky likeable charm to the show.

Both coming into their own as the series continues and well and truly come out of the shadow of Greg and Alex

Mainly doing this review to counter the other negative ones! I always look forward to watching each week. The shows seems to get better as it goes, with a great mix of guests each season. Hope it keeps on going !!!!!!!

Stepping from the UK version to the Australian version you're immediately reminded of why do much Australian TV us unwatchable. Not because of the content, the themes or the show's presenters or contestants. No. It's the ridiculous tonedeaf production, and Taskmaster immediately fails straight out of the gate with the mind-boggling misuse of canned laughter. It's not just canned laughter. It's canned laughter with whoops and applause after EVERY single sentence uttered. Honestly, are these shows made by infants? The constant, clunky fade-in fade-out laughter track is completely out of step with any grown-up edge this show is famous for. Seriously, if it's not shows being edited to death, it's the dumb use of over the top sound. Another unwatchable production. Please, Australia, grow up.

Back in the 70's and 80's Australian comedy was okay. There were even memorable moments.

There have been a few icons even. Barry Humphrey possibly the stand out. Paul Hogan was the funny bloke at the pub and had a spontaneous charm that saw him make it across the media spectrum.

But this!

This slop would be embarrassing if it was put together by a bunch of year 12 high school kids for their muck up day. I'm certain they'd be funnier.

This is a national embarrassment and I can't even watch the network at night for fear of having to sit through the promo ads for it.

I honestly don't know how the people in it can look at themselves in the mirror. It's rank garbage. You know, the stuff that sits in the sun for about a week.

I fear for the population who pan this swill down. Underlines how unsophisticated we are. Not me at least.
