Das Gesetz des Dschungels

When I watch a show I want to be entertained and see the competition. I don't want to hear about someone's pronouns, social issues, how everyone is a victim. There are MANY diverse cultures in this world and many of them do not agree on fundamental issues. We should all be more tolerant, but we also need to be more understanding that maybe some cultures do not want to hear about it all the time. I don't want my ideologies and religions shoved down someone's throat and I do not want it in return either. I wish it would just show the fun interactions and the contests and leave out all the nonsense. Because of that, I couldn't watch it anymore and turned it off.

I have seen this concept before so it is not original - different versions have been put out there. This version is a little different in that it has a twist of the contestants constantly getting secret "offers" to betray their comrades. The problem with these offers is that if they take they offer and successfully complete it, money comes out of the final jackpot prize. They risk being caught as the hostess reveals the jackpot prize total and the pressure is on to figure out who betrayed and that opens you up to elimination. At first it makes the competition intersting but then it gets to be so many offers they should just call the show The Game Of Offers. Way , way to many. It starts to get ridiculous when girls are taking huge amounts of money out of the prize pot for a piece of chocolate cake for example. Also there is really only one interesting contestant Adrian, who always takes everything with a smile. All this for a fairly small prize in the end.

I don't know who the host of the show was, maybe a local celebrity but the choice to put her in this show was a huge mistake. It felt as natural as if a pig was placed in a palace. She was completely out of her comfort zone, it was painful to watch. Her awkward hand gestures, posture, her whole behavior was just uncomfortable. NOTHING about her was natural and it made me, the viewer uncomfortable, too. And the clothes the production made her wear made it even worse. It's clear she never wore boots or any of the "cool" leather accessories they made her wear. It was like watching a painful satire what constantly derailed your attention.

This jungle is no joke. These people are really in the middle of bugs, humidity, heat, rain, mud, dangerous animals and humans! You see the bugs crawling everywhere. Their living quarters, of course in the jungle, also on their clothes in their shoes... Personally I love the fact that the contestants are all so different. Unlike others who think that's not appropriate or shouldn't be discussed, for me it's completely the opposite. It shows how alike we are, even with our differences . Whether those differences be pronouns, hairstyles, skin color, body types, social economic, age, sex, gender, or sexual orientation. And definitely not something we should hide, but instead it should be exactly like they show here... be who you are and show What You're Made Of!

The challenges are tough, it's not always easy to watch but it's a great study of The Human Condition and what it means to be honest with yourself, with others, how to get along, but also why we fight, why we have our challenges...in the end it's a game too. Enjoy.
