Neu definiert: J.R. Smith

This is really just a promotional piece for J. R. Smith. He seems like a good guy. His mistakes on and off the court could happen to anyone, especially a young person.

Some parts of it were intriguing during ep. 1 and 2, and it kept me watching. Ultimately, the cameras didn't show his college housing situation. He seemed to have an assistant with him all the time, and she was never introduced. We don't learn much about his daily life. At the beginning, everyone on campus wants a selfie, and there are tons of young ladies flocking. I thought that would be kinda interesting (and kinda promised by the show) how a 36 yo celebrity would navigate becoming a college student and a golfer. Those things are kinda left out.

The camera spends a lot of time on his golf teammates, the campus and history of NC A&T. This 4 episode series just doesn't show anything special, nor satisfy your curiosity.

In episode 3 there is some dissension on the golf team about the coaching. They never describe the problem clearly, and the coach is not allowed to defend himself. It is just a mystery.

NBA players are pretty delusional, and have huge egos. J. R. Smith just produced a puff piece, a feel-good story, about one year in his life. Why? IDK, and this series doesn't really give you any answers.

J. R. presents an uplifting and motivational story of new beginnings and the importance of commitment to your family, friends, team, and most importantly, yourself. Swish is real with his emotions and struggles, while also refusing to let them diminish his drive. Through four episodes you can see an individual who's been on the top of the world bring humility and servant leadership to a team-impacting both younger teammates and older coaching staff alike. J. R. Also shares his triumphs over his educational challenges, proving that dedication to personal success is stronger than any limitations you're born or placed into-such as having dyslexia and being limited to special education classes. This is an amazing story encouraging individual improvement and success, as seen in J. R.'s development over the golfing and academic season, progressing in his talents on the green while being a role model for teammates, supporting his family, and achieving a 4.0 GPA! P. S. Watch out for bees!

In a society and time with so many variations of the truth, it's not surprising that J. R. has always owned his. If you know J. R., you know J. R. If you don't know J. R., your lost. I'm honored to peak into this man's life to see his mistakes, regrets, passions, achievements, unbelievable athleticism and overall kind and gentle meek man.

Athletes get the raw end of the deal when it comes to privacy and freedom of choice. I do believe that their gift opens doors but the benefits that are associated with those open doors aren't cheap and most of us think that it's a small sacrifice on the athlete's part. But what about an athlete that doesn't play for fame, money, or status. You're left with an athlete whose love for the game is enough of a reason to lace up night after night for 17 season. We could use more professional athletes like J. R.

We need more athletes to tell their stories. We know for sure that if young gifted athletes watch Redefined: J. R. Smith they'll understand that regardless of fame, money, and status that's it's the character of a man that will always take him to his greatest heights.
