The Whisper Within the Woods

Watch at your own risk. Special mention for the witch' s boots.... They are the star of the movie. No matter the place and desertion, the witch didn't lose her sense of style and comfort. After all she has an image to adhere to. The black garb, perfunctory execution and legendary acting adds to the already torture of the movie. The special effects deserve a special mention for their shoddy work. Editing team didn't disappoint as well with their execrable job. On a brighter note, the witch and Darren provide some spells of comedy with their.appalling attempts at acting. Overall a -10 from my side for this Horror of a movie (not a horror movie).

When you see a low budget movie with no star, you often left disappointed by bad acting and story telling. However The Whisper Within The Woods, delivers on multiple accounts.

A strong story about broken relationships, protecting the ones you love and the supernatural left me wanting more.

For a very low budget feature, I was shocked by the amount of cast and locations, all bringing their own passion and realism to a haunting story.

The film was beautifully shot and there is a creepy, yet magical score to boot.

I walked out of the screening moved and wanting more. I hope they make a sequel as I am sure there is more to be told. I can't wait to see this again.

This debut film from director Mark Adlington was excellent. Created on a budget of next to nothing (not that you'd know!) this had me glued to my seat throughout.

Writer Gary Redwin's script was darkly witty in all the right places, yet serious and unsettling where it needed to be.

The score from Paul M. Finney was a wonderful throwback to when films had theme tunes and really added to the mood.

With excellent performances from the central characters and a brilliant supporting cast, this was enjoyable from start to finish.

I'm looking forward to whatever comes next from this excellent film making team.

Fabulous debut thriller film from these incredibly talented filmmakers. The scripting and filming is amazing considering the extremely low budget for this film. The range of actors, costumes, different scenes and locations was really diverse. I loved the storyline and plot. The twists and turns all the way along kept us on the edge of our seat, especially the shock at the end of this fab mystery. The local references were brilliant, not everyone will have picked up on them but if you did then you'll get it. Great effort from the young actors. The sound effects and music was also brilliant. Certainly worth a watch and I highly recommend this exciting thriller to anyone.

What a cracking film! A properly nerve-jangling indie horror set in the picturesque town of Upminster. What it lacks in budget it more than makes up for with a punchy script and quality acting.

Superb performances and an intriguing storyline that keeps the viewer hooked throughout. Who would have thought something so wicked and wretched would come out of RM14!

The soundtrack is Carpenter-esque with its haunting, almost torturous soundscapes, cranking up the suspense to a satisfying and shuddering climax.

Big recommend for anyone looking for a scare, a fright or a lesson in unsettling local history and folklore.
