Sex, Love, Venice offers a charming blend of romance, self-discovery, and Italian allure, with an LGBT story at its heart. One of its standout features is the breathtaking backdrop, from winding Venetian canals to sunlit piazzas, the film makes full use of its stunning locations. The storytelling keeps viewers engaged with thoughtful, often profound monologues and interesting conversations that give the narrative depth. The performances are solid across the board, but Suzanna Akins truly shines. Her vibrant energy and playful presence light up every scene she's in, adding warmth and humor that perfectly balance the film's introspective moments.
WOW! I was so pleasantly surprised! I attended a special screening and so many people were in tears after the film. You could hear a pin drop...everyone was completely glued to the screen watching these actors tell the story in such a vulnerable way. They really pour it all out there. Each little glance of the eyes on screen...you really feel everything and awaken the inner parts of yourself. Every frame on screen is honest and that's lovely to watch .
The cinematography is completely gorgeous and I know this film will touch a lot of people! Reminding ourselves to feel love and desire again...beautiful. Well done!
I was thinking about it for days after, looking at my own interactions with those around me, and challenging myself to be transparent of my insecurities and accepting myself. .

A touching story portrayed by great actors! The supporting actors really did an amazing job fleshing out the story and adding depth! Some of the dialogue was a little lengthy and grandiose as it needed to explain some heady ideas and feelings but overall a good watch! The themes of self discovery and love were very powerful Michael did a great job portraying that sense of listlessness and longing. Both supporting characters were amazing and had amazing depth that was expertly portrayed by their actors (especially Suzanna Akins I'm looking forward to her breakout into the limelight) a necessity to foil to the main character and highlight his difficulties. The cinematography and locations were amazing and really added to the feeling of the movie.
Finally a gay movie that isn't a complete drag. I was glad to see no unbearable tragedies, dead junkies or any of the usual tropes you see in the genre. I was pleased to see a movie that was just about the love between two men with no excessively explicit sexual. It was a breath of fresh air. I wish there were more movies like this one.
Loved "Sex, Love, Venice." Great work by director/writer Steve Balderson, and actors Mink Stole, Alexander Ananasso and Daniel Bateman, Zaramok Bachok, Suzanna Akins and Jason Caceres, who can also be seen in "Duke With Benefits." Love in Venice, Italy, the most beautiful place in the whole world. How can you go wrong? I've seen many of Balderson's movies, and this one is the best! Mink Stole is a living legend! Great to see her in this. And look out for the scene in the oldest bookstore in Venice, Italy, Libreria Acqua Alta. People were in tears at the end of the film when I saw it at a special screening in Los Angeles.
