It's big brother meets the plot of the martian ( matt damon movie).
Most of the cast i have never heard of, so for me the biggest name i notice was mclovin's actor christopher mints passe, they are put in a desert* mock up of a mars base and their aim is to 'survive' the mission and each other, people are 'extracted' when the vote is against them, usual reality shenengains ensue !
Each 'day' / episode will mostly follow a bit of the movie where they face an emergency or have to complete a mission, these range from movie accurate ( with caveats) to the absurd ( alien encounter).
The cast is picked for drama, over reacting and cringe.
And william shatner hosts it because i guess matt damon had much better things to do.
I'm not a fan of reality shows but i thought i'd give it a try for the lols, but OOOF.

A cool show. Though,I was getting pissed off at some point. Just had to watch till the end because Marshawn was still in the house.
My shout-out to them. Lance Armstrong, Ronda Rousey and Marshawn Lynch. They are so Neutral and very Mission Critical , ready for Missions and tasks without any annoying/irritating alliances.
I'll recommend the show to be more challenging if there'll be a next season 2 or another kinda of show. No form of alliances, do the task assigned and wait for the host to evict.
The alliances formed really made the show kind of immature. Aside that, it's a very good show.

Definitely favoritism with the girl clique. They pass the promotions between themselves so no one that is not in the clique gets a chance. Is the show about all of them or just the red head Ariel Winters? Maybe you should have just called it Ariel Winters and crew on Mars! Let Lance have a turn as base commander because in my opinion EVERYONE should have a turn at it. This way you can see who is truly a good commander. Not someone who is continuously claiming the spotlight. I like the show for what it is but I don't like favoritism even on a show such as this. Ariel is too much in command. Please correct and get rid of her. Then the show would go up in my opinion.
I recently tuned in to Stars on Mars, featuring the talented duo of Rhonda Rousey and Lance Armstrong. While I was eager to see these two stars in action, I must admit that the show left me with mixed feelings.
Rhonda Rousey's performance was impressive, as expected. Her athleticism and acting skills were on full display, and she truly carried the show during her scenes. Lance Armstrong, in a surprising turn, showcased his charm and delivered a respectable performance, considering his background in cycling.
However, the show's overall appeal suffered due to the lackluster performances from some of the other actors. Their silly and less-than-serious approach made it challenging to fully immerse myself in the storyline. This, unfortunately, took away from the overall entertainment value.
While I enjoyed witnessing Rhonda and Lance in action, Stars on Mars struggled to hold my attention throughout the entire show. The engaging moments were overshadowed by the inconsistency in the supporting cast's performances. It's a shame, as the potential for greatness was there.
In conclusion, Stars on Mars may be worth watching if you're a die-hard fan of Rhonda Rousey and Lance Armstrong. Their moments on screen are undoubtedly the highlights of the show. However, be prepared for some distractions caused by the less serious performances from other actors.

I sat here reading some of these reviews out loud to my husband while we laughed hysterically. Some of you need to get a grip. He teaches astronomy and we both know perfectly well that nothing about this "simulation" is realistic. Of course it isn't. They're in the middle of an Australian desert - Fox couldn't afford to send them to Mars, sorry to let you down.
It's a reality show. If you don't love reality shows, you won't love this. It's not for space nerds, or sci-fi fans. It's for reality show fans who also think space is neat. No, there aren't huge celebrities on this show. How often do you see reality shows with A-list celebrities? But the ones they chose can still be entertaining to watch on a personal level. Lance/Neil/Louie Armstrong is pretty funny, for example, especially his relationship with the other athletes on the show. I don't love reality TV personalities, but many of these people are naturally entertaining.
I don't love reality shows. However this one is more entertaining than usual, can be pretty funny, and made us laugh out loud several times. It's watchable, not bingeable. Still, it doesn't deserve the hate it's getting over dumb reasons.
