It's big brother meets the plot of the martian ( matt damon movie).
Most of the cast i have never heard of, so for me the biggest name i notice was mclovin's actor christopher mints passe, they are put in a desert* mock up of a mars base and their aim is to 'survive' the mission and each other, people are 'extracted' when the vote is against them, usual reality shenengains ensue !
Each 'day' / episode will mostly follow a bit of the movie where they face an emergency or have to complete a mission, these range from movie accurate ( with caveats) to the absurd ( alien encounter).
The cast is picked for drama, over reacting and cringe.
And william shatner hosts it because i guess matt damon had much better things to do.
I'm not a fan of reality shows but i thought i'd give it a try for the lols, but OOOF.

Definitely favoritism with the girl clique. They pass the promotions between themselves so no one that is not in the clique gets a chance. Is the show about all of them or just the red head Ariel Winters? Maybe you should have just called it Ariel Winters and crew on Mars! Let Lance have a turn as base commander because in my opinion EVERYONE should have a turn at it. This way you can see who is truly a good commander. Not someone who is continuously claiming the spotlight. I like the show for what it is but I don't like favoritism even on a show such as this. Ariel is too much in command. Please correct and get rid of her. Then the show would go up in my opinion.
The premise: A range of D-list "celebrities" go through a Mars simulation, which involves living in a fake rocket ship, completing space challenges, and voting out the weakest team member.
The execution: A bunch of people chaotically do things? Seriously, you can barely tell what's happening. The challenge isn't clear, there's no competition involved, everyone is constantly talking over each other, and the filming doesn't capture much. It's like watching a whole bunch of nothing.
For a show like this to survive, it needs one of the following: a charming cast of characters, funny reality tv drama, or compelling challenges/a competition element. Unfortunately, it doesn't have any of these. The interactions and challenges were painfully dull. Maybe it will improve, but I don't have high hopes.

Think "Big Brother" but, it's on Mars and comes with everything that entails.
My biggest issue with the show, is the overwhelming number of fundamentally unlikable "Stars"... most of which I'd never heard of before. (Though, I am British..!)
I've always liked the little I've seen of Ariel in the past, but this show has completely changed my opinion.
I cannot stand her! (Or Adam / Porsha for that matter.)
Lance, Ronda and Marshawn seem like they'd been great to be around... though, Marshawn does have an issue with listening when on-mission! Haha!
Tinashe and Andy seem like solid choices to be on the show. (I'd never heard of Tinashe before this.)
If this gets a second season, or a British version, I'd probably watch it again.. But I guess that would also depend on the spread of contestants.

Not really sure what's with all the super negative reviews-it's really not that serious. It's a cute reality tv game show with a unique premise. So far it's been really funny and lighthearted. It's been fun to see the real personalities of these athletes, actors, and reality tv personalities. A few people have definitely surprised me! The set up allows you to get to know the participants more and their personalities really shine through. I didn't have super high expectations but this has really been a fun surprise. It's not high brow entertainment but it's entertaining and fun. Similar to the US Traitors (except much less lying) so if you like that show I'd recommend this one!
