When I stumbled upon this 2023 shark movie titled "Blind Waters", of course I had to watch it, as I have something for sharks. But needless to say that I wasn't really harboring much of any grand expectations, as the majority of shark movies tends to be dubious and questionable movies.
And then when the movie started, those to dreadful words appeared on the screen: The Asylum. Yep, this was another movie from The Asylum, though it wasn't their archetypical mockbuster type of movie. Regardless, I still opted to watch "Blind Waters", as some movies from The Asylum actually are entertaining.
Writer and director Anthony C. Ferrante put together a fair enough script and storyline for the movie. Sure, one can argue for whether or not it was generic, but then again, isn't it sort of limited just how much you can differentiate a shark-themed movie? With that being said, then I found the storyline to be entertaining.
The acting performances in "Blind Water" were fair. It wasn't a particularly big cast ensemble, nor was it any recognizable actors or actresses on the cast list. But I will say that the cast ensemble actually put on good enough performances to carry the movie.
Visually then "Blind Waters" was somewhat of a mixed bag of nuts. Some of the special effects, whether it was CGI or practical, were quite good, but on the other hand, then some of the effects were rather questionable. But all in all, it was actually not too shabby.
I found that "Blind Waters" proved to be a fair enough shark-themed movie. Sure, it wasn't a particularly outstanding or memorable shark movie, but it was good enough for a single viewing. The movie's cover/poster, however, set up the movie to be a bit more exciting than what writer and director Anthony C. Ferrante actually delivered.
My rating of "Blind Waters" lands on a five out of ten stars.

Okay it was free to watch on Tubi, so I thought I would give it a go.
Yes most shark movies land in this lane where this movie is, I.e. Teeeible acting, terrible effects, terrible story been done to death a hundred times better, cliche riddled.
This was in the so bad it's not even good category.
The boyfriend in the film, well the girlfriend should have dumped him on the spot, talk about accident prone, drops the ring, his boat won't start and gets bitten by the shark.
The girlfriend goes blind halfway through the film and she turns into a shark kicking butt person by the end of the movie.
They couldn't even see that the bad guy was acting strangely for them to be put off by him.
Even though the effects were badly done, obviously the film was cheaply done. If the story and attack scenes with the shark were any good then the movie would have been much better.

Terrible movie, waste of the runtime you could spend doing anything else more interesting including watching paint dry.
The shark wishes it could be as well done as the one in jaws, a movie made.almost 50 years ago and let's mpt ,emtion the story (or lack thereof) or teh acting.
It is not even bad enough it is good, just plain bad and that's coming from someone that usually enjoys cheap sharkl movies. This one is just plain bad and a waste of time. Watch ANYTHING else really.
What can I say more to complete this review? I mean The Shallows is also a ridiculous movie where a shark kills and eats so many people during the runtime that must have been one hungry shark but it is highly watchable, this one isn't, not just because it is ridiculous just because it is terrible in every way.

The movie is really bad. Don't lose your time. Even but the usually shark movie standards this is really a bad one. I'm. Willing to pin the other way about the special effect and CGI but the plot is absurd. The acting is mediocre at best and the characters don't make any sense. And don't get me started about the shark. Is mightiest than Thor. I now this kid of movies are made to just pass the time but in this case it falls short my a milestone. Watch 47 meters down. It way better, the budget of the too is very similar but the movie is far superior. This one is just bad. Even taking into account the director is the same one from sharkanado don't expect anything enjoyable.
Very straight forward shark movie. A bunch of people are on a holiday in a gorgeous setting. There is at least one shark that eats people.
This movie was unbearably long. Every unnecessarily long scene of people listening to music and dancing, or sharing mind-numbingly dumb dialogue was painful, knowing how long the overall movie would go on for. The characters are pretty stupid overall. An early scene shows someone who has stolen a boat and killed its captain, only to go to the middle of nowhere and get off the large, safe yacht in favour of a tiny dingy. Why? Why in the hell would anyone do that? What was the point of that?
The points are for the fact that it was shot properly on professional cameras with proper sound equipment, and some effort went into the silly soundtrack and score. I also always give a terible movie at least 2-3 points for being shot somewhere gorgeous. The good bad movies have the decency to give you something beautiful to look at while your ears are being assaulted by stupidity. This movie did that. Everything was beautiful. And the CGI shark was not the worst.
There are better dumb shark movies to watch than this one, but I'm glad that I saw it once, as a shark movie completist.

- Patzer(at around 1h and 05 mins) There is an additional line of dialogue that appears in the closed-caption subtitles that isn't spoken in the film. Just after the character say's "The engine's perfectly fine." the CC subtitle adds: 'The propeller fell off' before he continues to speak again.
