Lobão: Cena De Cinema

From Lobão's debut album "Cena de Cinema" the title track, like many from that same album, has such an innocent and charming vibe that it doesn't feel a characteristic work from the man, if we consider his more hard songs or his expressive protests in countless hits. And the video for it, it has one of his best efforts, directed the veteran theatre critic José Emilio Rondeau and filmed on a subway station in Rio de Janeiro.

A young man (Lobão) falls asleep while watching a movie at a drive-in and begins to have vivid dreams of meeting countless colorful characters in scenario typical from the movies such as a cowboy, a native, a pretty woman, Gandhi-like figures and others from the crowd. In between those scenarios, there's Lobão performing with his group.

It's a quite amusing music video, far from being one of those weird and corny videos from the period where music videos were starting to become a fever with audiences. It works great with a simple idea and a simple presentation, and it doesn't need more and it shows the dream qualities that movies have with audiences. The song is pure charm and memorable, one of my favorite of his. Pretty good. 8/10.
