How disappointing. You know how a movie can be so bad its funny? This wasn't that. In fact I wish it had been. At least then it would be entertaining. Even though I read the reviews and saw the ratings I still rented it. Come on it's thanksgiving and all stuff out right now is a yawn fest but who knew you could take such a great title and make it so bad. The writing was atrocious, the casting just as bad and bland. I mean I like the idea of it but boy was that bland, white meat no seasoning bland. It would be boring boring and under normal circumstances but I would have just watched something different and complained here later, I had nothing better to do than watch that bland movie and I yawned over a dozen times. Sad.
Hard to get through. Noticed this had positive reviews, assuming from the crew and family and friends because this wouldn't even be worth it if you got paid to watch it. I made this account just to say this.
Another review mentions they only had 6 days to shoot, so I place blame on the director for lack of adequate time and attention to this film. Many scenes needed reshooting and the script needs revisions. The plot was easy to follow along with, and it did a great job of drawing you in from the hook. The hour following that, however, only leads to disappointment and wondering how much longer it has. Hopefully the director takes note, and adequately prepares for the next film to actually make something worthwhile.

I want to believe that those who gave more than 4 are because they saw another movie. I don't recommend it even to my worst enemy. In the cinema everyone was dying of laughter at how bad this movie is. It is confusing, with plot holes, scenes taken from the sleeve, abrupt endings and beginnings. Of course, if you want to laugh at how bad it is, it is the right movie.
I would think the director wanted to end it quickly because it's embarrassing. I stayed at the theater because I wasn't going to waste the $1.5 that the ticket cost me, and I also hadn't finished my popcorn (although 1 hour and a half of my life is not worth it for this movie).

I have a start for Doug Bradley (who gave a lackluster script his best delivery) and a star for decent visuals on the slim budget, but I'm sorry, this movie doesn't ultimately deliver. It's a great premise, and had so much potential, but the writing is just godawful.
Beyond the atrocious writing, only Doug Bradley, Denise Duff, and Katie Silverman do a decent job. Kayla Fields is about as believable as a politician during campaign season, and the rest of the cast is just "okay." While much can be chalked up to the poor writing, there's some horrid acting here too.
I get Doug wanting a paycheck, so I can't fault him for taking this gig, but this is a serious "pass" for me. Unrealistic dialogue and story arcs, and writing that rivals the plot of a 1980's porn film. Stay away.
Oh, and I hope and pray that Doug Bradley is able to land at least one more decent film before he retires. He's too good to have to settle for garbage like this.

Yeah, those biased high scores. Whew. Nice save, production and studio crew. This "movie" is more like a high school project with some brazen attempts to be scary or shocking. It's actually sad to watch this if you're a fan of the original Exorcist. You'll be rolling your eyes (or maybe spinning your head) at the weak acting and boring storyline. To make it worse, the filming scenes were too bright and the demon wasn't scary with their big white glowing eyes. I guess it's true that Hollywood offers nothing new and fresh. Just rehash more knockoff movies of cherished originals for a quick cash grab on the franchise. Watch it if you want, but you'll never get that time back and that's what's really scary.
