I'm so grateful to have caught this gem at Dances With Films NY. It perfectly blends documentary with a compelling and articulate narrative structure. The harmony between the two is seamless-something I've honestly never seen before but now crave more of.

The cinematography is stunning, and Rosie McDonald's performance is nuanced, personal, and deeply genuine. The film bravely explores grief while still finding moments of hope and lightheartedness. Emotional chords struck me again and again as I was enveloped in this unique and authentic story.

I normally offer comparisons, but truthfully, I found this movie to be entirely its own-a true testament to its great direction and the filmmaker's vision. It's undoubtedly a must-watch.

A/Way is a really unique film that has a great combo of mixing these well-done mini documentaries and the narrative film, creating a seamless interlocking story.

Anna, played by Rosie McDonald, is very natural and very well cast. Director Derek Garcia did a great job creating a world that travels to exotic places we don't want to leave.

The story is different, and I really was rooting for Anna as she went on her journey. And her interactions with the other women were so natural and organic, which made the documentary side of the film so engaging. I believe they weren't actors, and it makes it feel authentic. I really like the mix and approach to this storytelling.

Worth the watch.
