Meurtres en Guadeloupe

Christian Rivière, the owner of a biomass factory has been murdered by poisoning and his corpse was covered with bird feathers. The police chief Auguste Célestin asks the retired police commissioner Jean-Baptiste Lonteau to manage the investigation with Télumée Magloire who recently came back to the Guadeloupe: some moments of mutual teasing at the beginning. Back to the investigation, a first clue: Stéphane Cairo, the farmer had some troubles with the victim about water supply,but he can not bee the murder,Then the corpse of Maris-Agnés Dragouvin is found covered with cane fibers at the Soufrière -also a cas of poisoning-. The investigation goes very slowly and little by little we enter into the secrets of the Rivière family : Jean-Baptiste remembers when he was a student of Violette and pays a visit to Violette, in a room Jean-Baptiste and Télumée find a painting made by Violette.

I enjoyed the performances of Bernard Yerlès, Clair, Greg Germain, France Zogba, Laurence Joseph, Sébastien Capgras, Marie-Christine Barrault, Ocene Gomez, Shirley Bousquet and Alix Serment.

A very pleasant, if somehat formulaic, entry in this decade plus long series. I have watched every episode now available through this "Season 12" entry on Mhz; and while several clearly we were out of broadcast order as well as not really "Muertres en...", most are of a type. Two detectives, one local, one less so or invited in, work together to solve a homicide or series thereof. Generally they will begin to work together and get along better and solves the case Frequently the culprit is someone we meet, though not too well along the way.

This story fits quite well, with enough local culture and scenery to keep it interesting. It's not Award-Winning cinema, but fun and entertaining.
