Binky

After watching this film, it makes me wonder how many talents out there are struggling with their own life and how amazing they would have been if they had a chance to prove themselves. I wish everyone who has dreams that never give up. I recommend everyone watch this film, you don't get to experience this type of storytelling a lot and it's definitely an eye-opening short film that is worth watching at least three times. Pay attention to the details that the director puts into it. A big shout out to all the indie film makers for the hard work. Not easy to tell such a deep story under short time.

To be honest, I didn't really know the director wants to tell from the beginning and the movie itself was actually quiet but crazy at the same time. Then I watched it the second time, actually paid lots of attention to all the details, I kind of understood why the director wants to put the way it was. Sometimes watching a movie isn't just about the story itself, it's about a feeling, a mood or an attitude that suddenly becomes something so strong. One of my friends has the same issue that Ethan has in movie Binky, so I can relate to that feeling, always be nice and respect to others and never give up I guess.

Cinematography and acting led me to immerse myself in the film. It was interesting that at some point the protagonist's depressive reality confused me what was his real life or his acting. I liked the usage of limited space and story-telling that made the audience curious about the character in a short time.

The protagonist's life is at-once seemingly tidy and orderly, but also pitifully overcompensatory when he is then seen to have props to stand in for what should be a normal existence. The sense of or pursuit of such regimented order in his life and personal space stands in juxtaposition to what is really anxiety-driven inner turmoil of someone's suffering from stut.
