Twin Lies

My big problem with this film is that it should have been advertised as a Lifetime-style drama for 14 year old girls and not a thriller for adults with sex and violence. It's basically a young adult romance story of a girl reconciling with her twin sister and who has to choose between a sweet good guy and a naughty bad guy. If it seems like it may be a thriller based upon the opening scene, you've basically already seen all the thrills that are going to happen. Also, the plot is pretty immature. One of the twin girls tries to say that escorts are for companionship only and no sex is expected. This is a lie that a woman tells her family or boyfriend when they find out about her side-hustle, not a realistic explanation. It's ridiculous to think a high class escort gets $30,000 as a tip -- just the tip! -- for playing backgammon and falling asleep fully clothed. It's also ridiculous to treat showing off a modest bra and nearly kissing as some shocking, highly unusual situation that only someone who has caught feelings for her client would ever do. This is basically a tee-hee story that teenage girls tell themselves to imagine becoming filthy rich while doing nothing. While that audience would probably like the film, I found it to be tedious and largely uneventful. The lead actresses and actor are charismatic and talented, which earned the film an extra star, but they deserved a better story than this.

Nina (Nicole Peters) and Victoria (Lauren Peters) are twins from a rich family. Nina is a barista, a college drop-out, and heavily in debt. Victoria is doing all the right things. The sisters are estranged. During a night out at the bar, a stranger pays for all Nina's drinks. He thinks that she's Victoria. Victoria confesses that she's a high-priced escort. She's quitting. With her last date, she recruits Nina to take over new client David Linx.

It's an interesting starting premise, but they need a more convincing argument for the switch. Nina should be more leery of Victoria's offer and I still don't understand Victoria. They are not supposed to get along and Nina should be suspicious. To be fair, she is not the brightest or else she would tell the FBI agents to talk to her lawyer. Neither girls are acting that carefully or that smartly. It can be frustrating. I think the sisters should be best friends for this premise to work better. It's all a little off.

I really didn't expect this movie to be good at all so I went in not thinking I would like it!! Well I was WRONG cuz I couldn't take my eyes off my tv!!

The twins are actually pretty good actresses and beautiful too!! Very good with emotional responses and believeble acting!!

I gave 9 stars instead of 10 cuz the ending was very predictable but absolutely love the movie so I can overlook that 😂😂

The "bad guy" his voice didn't match up, not sure how to explain this so people can understand what I mean. Maybe I thought h e would have a really thick accent

If you're not sure you want to watch it, just do it cuz you will not regret it!! It's definitely a movie that I couldn't watch multiple times but once is enough (for me anyways)

I thoroughly loved the movie! It was thrilling, suspenseful, exciting, sensual, comedic and touching! Many times when watching a film, I think boy is it long and when will it end-no such thoughts on this one! Movies are supposed to be entertaining and fun, and this movie definitely fits the bill!! The performances by the lead twin actresses, Lauren and Nicole Peters were engaging and captivating. The twin dynamic was very realistic and I enjoyed seeing them interact with each other. This movie was made for them, as they fit the roles perfectly. I can't wait to see the twins in their next feature!! As a matter of fact, they should make a Twin Lies 2!!

Think along the lines of Nancy Drew has a twin sister who works as an escort (no sex) and they go under cover to nab a bad businessman.

It was a pleasant TV movie similar to something you might see on a Hallmark channel maybe, nothing special but the lead actresses were a good match for their roles and enjoyable to watch. The rest of the cast was good too.

I liked that, even though the protagonist was violent, they did not show depictions of graphic violence. That was a welcome change from the typical brutal acts of violent body desecration depicted on most streaming platforms now.

As for the sex side of things, well, there isn't any although there are a couple of mildly sexy scenes. I'm not sure what this is rated but I would rate it just above a G rating, whatever that is.

I think some people will enjoy this and some will think its junk, depending upon your expectations. After reading this, I think you have a good idea of what to expect though.
