    INCREDIBLE!!

Don't know what that other reviewer is smoking on, but it sounds like they want this game to be similar to everything else out there. Expecting the usual from a new release is what's BORING. Yeah, Dustborn isn't exactly breaking new ground, but it's also in its own lane and far removed from other titles. I do not regret my purchase.

The combat isn't the best, but the game's strength doesn't rely on that. It relies on the interactions between characters, which ultimately are what shape this game's universe. Words are important, both on and off the field of combat.

For me, Sai and Noam stand out the most, but Pax is still my second favorite character next to Sai. From the second Sai was brought on screen, I felt a connection. The panic attacks are EXTREMELY RELATABLE for me.

Alright, that's my review. If I say anything else, I risk spoilers, so I'm out. 👋🏽👏🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾

    Not very good

Apost-apocalyptic road trip adventure with a narrative focus, stylish visuals, and a unique combat system that promised to mix things up. Unfortunately, after spending several hours with the game, it became clear that Dustborne falls far short of its potential. If I had to sum it up in one word, it would be this: boring.

The game starts off promising enough, setting up a desolate, dystopian world full of intrigue and mystery. However, the momentum fizzles out almost immediately. The narrative, which is supposed to be one of the game's strongest aspects, quickly loses steam. The dialogue is overly drawn out, and the pacing is glacial at best. While I expected the story to develop and unfold in interesting ways, it became a tedious slog of predictable plot points and uninspired character development. The characters, who at first glance seemed quirky and compelling, never really evolve beyond their initial stereotypes, leaving little room for emotional investment.

A large part of what makes Dustborne so boring is its gameplay. The rpg system, which revolves around "blocking" and "being triggered," feels absurdly underwhelming and, frankly, silly. Blocking attacks, while sounding like it could add a strategic layer to battles, is mind-numbingly repetitive and lacks any real challenge or variety. Each encounter feels the same as the last, and you quickly realize that there's little incentive to think on your feet or come up with clever tactics. It feels more like an exercise in going through the motions than a dynamic, engaging system.

As for the "triggering" mechanic, where you supposedly act triggered to gain health and get enemies into certain behaviors or reactions, it's poorly implemented and downright ridiculous in execution. The concept had potential, but the way it plays out in the game feels cartoonish and juvenile. Rather than adding depth or nuance, it comes across as a gimmick that quickly wears thin. Not only does it fail to make combat more interesting, but it also shatters any immersion the game tries to build. You're left wondering how something this silly made it through development without someone realizing how out of place it feels.

Beyond the combat, the game's exploration and world-building also fail to engage. The world of Dustborne is visually appealing (because it's a copy of borderlands), sure, but it lacks any real sense of life or interactivity. The environments, while atmospheric, feel static and empty, as if they're just backdrops rather than living, breathing parts of the game world. Walking from point A to point B quickly becomes monotonous, with little to do in between other than endure yet more uninspired dialogue or slog through another repetitive encounter.

In the end, Dustborne is a frustratingly dull experience. It had all the ingredients to be a fresh and exciting game, but it falls flat in almost every respect. From its slow and predictable narrative to its shallow and silly combat mechanics, the game simply fails to deliver on its promises. If you're looking for a gripping adventure or a deep, meaningful combat system, Dustborne is not the game for you. Save yourself the time and look elsewhere and play bloodborne or cyberpunk.

    This game is rad

If you enjoyed any of Life is Strange games or a Telltale game in a past, you'll probably like this as well.

There's a free demo so you can check it out and see for yourself.

The story, cast and performances are all great. And that's the main thing you're getting with a game like this.

    A rad story, well told.

The "action" sections and music minigame are kind of lacking but nothing too bad, that will ruin your enjoyment of the game.

Main selling point here: is hanging out with a bunch of funny and interesting outcasts on a roardtrip sci-fi adventure and making plenty of choices along the way, that will influence your story.

**This game got in crosshairs of some internet-reactionaries so the user score is lowered for no good reason.

But if it looks somewhat interesting to you, checkout it's demo.

I'll bet you're going to like it.

    Boring, pretentious, uninspired and lazy.

Where do we even start with this? Never has a game been this abysmally unoriginal, uninspired, trite, narrative repulsive story and characters with inconsistent characterization and motivation and just leaves a bad taste in a gamer's mouth and a waste of time, money, and tears.

It has been proven time and time again that divisive politics is ruining and continues to ruin entertainment as a whole and Dustborn or should I say, Dullsborn, is a true testament to that statement. Over the years, we've been bombarded with not-so-subtle political messaging, bringing in outside, daily world problems into video games where their primary reason and purpose is to, y'know, ENTERTAIN. There's a time and place for political discussions; not in any form of entertainment whatsoever; if you wanted to be preached to, you go to a seminar, town hall meeting, etc. Everyone else just wants escapism. Dullsborn provides NONE. At all.

So, to sum it up, spend your money, time, patience and Perseverance on other, more entertaining games like Black Myth: Wukong, Warhammer: Space Marine 2, Stellar Blade or any game that is devoid of audience alienating political discussions, etc. This latest dumpster fire will simply bore you to tears.

    Avoid, like the avalanche.

Pax: [singing] We're the freaks. We're the outcasts. We look just like you. And nothing like you. You're past due. We will eclipse you. We're the aliens. We're the refugees. We walk among you. We're right behind you. Your time is past. Your kind won't last. We're the dust born. This bug is airborne. We're the new porn. Our kind is newborn.
