After meeting at a punk-rock club, a recently-turned vampire finds that the interactions with the vampires there are more intriguing than her former master who sent her there to spy on them resulting in a retriggering of a massive decades-long war between the two different factions.
Overall, this was a fairly solid low-budget vampire effort. One of the best features of this one is the strong and intriguing setup that isn't the most unique or clever out there but has quite a lot going for it. That's mainly due to a more in-depth and involved storyline than expected, working nicely with the idea of conflicting loyalties in a vampire war between two clans that are in the middle of a long-going feud with each other. Featuring the first group who are far more concerned with the traditional notions of being a vampire and follow the normal rules of everything we know about the creatures who are in direct opposition to the punk rock group that looks to focus more on being spontaneous and free, it offers up a great if overly simplistic take on the formula between the clans so that the resulting war can get started when they start to spy on each other. With her being attracted to the new group based on how different they are and the more free-spirited group appealing to her causing the trigger to their war, it comes together rather nicely for this type of film. This all manages to provide the film with a great touch for the resulting action to come. As the first half features only a few bits of attacks and traditional blood-drinking to get an idea of the society at play here, it's more reserved for the finale where the teams get together to launch their assault on each other at the club home of the opposing vampires where all sorts of fun encounters take place. The two sides get to go full throttle against each other with hand-to-hand weapons or brawling fights that take advantage of the wrestling backgrounds to create hard-hitting fights including a slew of practical effects for the deaths or wounds present. Given that it takes place at that point in the film due to the build-up focusing on the two falling for each other during her spy mission, everything tends to slow down to let that play out which comes at the expense of the action featured here until that point. As well as the low budget shining through at points, these all manage to lower this.
