    The Miracle of Life

Once again David Attenborough has come up with a novel and innovative way to show just how diverse and interesting our planet is. Every episode or series he does piques my curiosity. But the sad truth is that the advent of humanity presents an existential threat to every single aspect of life, including our own. Unless we change the Anthropocene will destroy us and much of our contemporaries, most whom have been here since life began some 2 billion years ago. David shows us what beauty and dignity there is on Earth. He resists the urge to scold. He holds up a mirror to ourselves. Enjoy and take the challenge to advocate for the wonder that David, at 97 still shows us.

BBC Earth + David Attenborough = Perfection

BBC Earth + David Attenborough = Perfection.

When BBC Natural History Unit couples with the legendary broadcaster and naturalists, Sir. David Attenborough, a nature gem is created. No need to watch all the episodes not even the first episode to confidently rate it a 10 star.

The first episode deals with the nocturnal animals showing amazing behavior and never seen before behavior. The amazing cinematography amazingly captures captivating scenes and behavior of different animals prowling in the dark, seeking food and shelter.

It is amazing that the more we delve into the natural world through the lenses of the cameras, the more we discover that the nature holds many secrets to flaunt.

I thank all the crew involved and appreciate the amazing voice of the legend.

Recycled enhanced clips from other docs; nothing new.

This series is nothing like Sir David's "Life of Mammels." Here, Every episode is a montage of footage from many other docs including Apple's Earth at Night series. Insects are shown as fillers. Lots of $$ & time was spent to make Sir David's 98+ yr old failing voice 15 yrs younger, by inserting old enhanced clips. His narration switches from when he was 60 to 85, If you've been an avid nature doc watcher who also bought the DVDs, streaming shows, save programs in DVR, you will see many of same clips. The few "new" clips are ones edited out from previous docs, enhanced & inserted here.

Sadly despite all the editing to make this series appear new by inserting 15 yr old enhanced clips with younger Sur David narrating, causes the series to be Disneyfied, meaning nothing bad is shown.. It's certainly not even a good BBC doc. "Perfect Planet " & Apples "Year the Earth" changed are the last 2 truly new & fascinating docs from Sir David, showing how this planet & every drop of water is ALL CONNECTED with wildlife being 24/7 custodians. Without wildlife, there's no wild places - fact repeatedly proven in 20+ yrs. Independent films Plastic Planet, Intelligence of Trees; Seasons; old but still good NG Volcano doc made in 1990s narrated by J..Irons (Prime) are all ground breaking.

Re BBC: "Frozen Planet 2" was last solid groundbreaking doc proving how PPL are THE MAIN problem & WE control our future by cherishing last few intake wild natural places, managing resources esp seas, or through apathy & short term greed, we let this once global paradise die, dooming our own future.

Remedy: Our global CONSUMER purchasing power & bit of behavior modification that aids our health & pocket book is all it takes to stop this drastic death of our planet.

The CURE: For those who DON'T know simple remedy/ cure: 1. Eat 2 vegan meals every week &.

    2. Weather proof one's home. That's it.

Bonus: Stop eating all poisoned sea life/ creatures loaded with 10-20x toxins, mercury, lead, & centuries of human chemical waste. Eat omega PLANTS or capsules bc fish do NOT POSSESS omegas- fish eat omega greens. DO NOT eat Krill pills bc ALL sea life depends on krill, esp Blue whales who CREATE KRILL& plankton via fertilization- proven facts by scientists. Without polar ice that's melting faster in past 1 MIL YRS, there's no habitats for krill/ plankton - foundation for all corals, fish & sea mammal life. Farmed fish & shrimp are ALL diseased- see "Seaspiracy" filmed in 2009, Plastuc Planet 2010, Netflix Chasing Coral 2007, & Frozen Planet 2 (2012).

Re THIS series. It's OK for toddlers but to show decades old enhanced clips of pristine ecosystems that are EXTINCT & shown as "current" is a DISSERVICE to those who do not regularly watch nature docs, once free on PBS like all TV once was 10 yrs ago, nor read / listen to scientists re state of our rapidly changing planet. This is esp an illusion to young kids / adults who must live / survive their entire lives in a dying planet with truly unstable weather that increases YRLY, including release of tons of instinction level methane bc of daily melting ice caps, no creation / retention of annual sea ice, & MASS wildlife extinction that stores same killer methane for HUMAN benefit.

Nature has been giving PPL loads of escalating warnings since 1980 - are we listening?

    Mammalian Magnificence

You know what you're getting with these Attenborough-tinged BBC series, this one emerging right around his 98th birthday and entirely dedicated to Mammals. It's a pretty broad brief and the episodes too are lumbered with such esoteric titles such as "Dark" and "Heat" that we get a fairly unfocussed smorgasbord of the typically breath-taking footage. Highlights include the gorgeous thievery of the Pika and some really top notch star-nosed mole business. Beyond that it's fairly boilerplate and there's not much more to say about it beyond a continual amazement that we get so many of these a year. I feel a lucky mammal.

Some reviewers here are nonsense and not true

I don't know if these nonsensical reviews are written by ChatGPT or something, but they are clear and utter lies.

I'm watching this series currently and I can DEFINITELY say that the footage seen is brand new. I have watched almost EVERY SINGLE Attenborough show available (even the rare ones and I even have them on Blu-ray), so I know this for sure. A few scenes might be similar to what was already done before (the star-nosed mole for example), but even those are shot in a beautiful new way. Besides, some scenes feature animal behaviour never seen before. Have you ever seen false killer whales sharing food? Or a close-up of a baby sperm whale suckling? Or a pod of orcas tricking and literally kidnapping a baby humpback? And this is just one episode. These scenes are unique even by BBC standards. And no, the narration is not reused. (C'mon... What's with this reviewer who said that??)

My only slight problem is that the series features too much well-known species and very few rare ones. If I stay in the 'Water' episode, I would have loved to see beaked whales, or pygmy sperm whales, or similar, less-known species. Yes, they are hard to film, but not harder than some behaviours seen in the series. So a few rarities would have been nice too.

I give Mammals a 10/10, even though I would have given a 9/10 if the previous reviews wouldn't have triggered my sense of justice. :)
