The premise was inspired by a real-life home invasion and robbery director Rodrigo Guerrero was a victim of when he was still living with his parents: One night, four young armed criminals broke into their home and took the whole family hostage. One of the robbers was assigned to keep an eye on the family, with the young man being surprisingly kind and considerate to them, specially to his mother, whom he tried to keep calm during the ordeal.
