Good Boy

A story on the water. Idiots-how can they ruin such a great idea with such a moronic script? Who'd believe this nonsense? Corruption, stupidity, and invincibility-there's got to be a limit to make it relatable. This could've been a top-tier gangster flick, but no, the Koreans decided to turn it into a Marvel movie with the dumbest characters. That includes the main hero, who flashes a charming smile and dishes out punches but takes even more hits, to,the head, which probably explains why he often acts like a complete fool. Why so much self-harm? The only 'normal' ones were the sleazy super-customs officer 😉 and, of course, the golden sharpshooter So-hyun 😍.

I've watched 14 episodes so far; this is a disappointing k-series.

The premise is interesting-former Olympic medalists, band together to fight the bad guys.

As the episodes continued, the story became more ridiculous & shallow.

Yes, this is fiction, but it's so over the top, just so unbelievable, the description of the main ring leader, who's just a civil servant working as a custom officer, somehow became a global villain with so much power that he mobilizes many professional killers at any given moment.

Even more ridiculous is he has stashed away many truck loads of cash, so tightly packed, really?! Even if he sells every " Candy " to each person, he would not have accumulated that much money.

Then there're fighting scenes. The writer is so ignorant of brain organ structures and functions.

The way Park BG received repeated heavy head blows, in reality, he would have been dead with just 1or 2 blows to the head. Brain is a soft organ, the massive swelling & bleeding inside the skull will compress on nerves, brain herniates, death ensues.

Overall, I gave 5 for the acting. But the script writer has done a poor job, a total failure .

I wanted to watch this because Park Bo-Gum is one of my favourite actors - he has proven that he can take on much any role and do it credit. In this he is a gold medal winning boxer who joins the police force along with other sports stars to form a criminal fighting team. They all use their particular abilities in dealing with crimes. There has to be an arch villain of course - and it comes in the form of another excellent actor Oh Jung-Se who is the kingpin of the drug business protected by those very high in politics. The story is a virtual dual between these two men.

The problem is that there are far too many fights against impossible odds - and our hero would never survive the beatings he receives. There is of course the obligatory love triangle - but I see no chemistry between Dong-Ju and Han-na - he does his best but she is not responsive at all.

The comedy is Korean - which Westerners may find childish. The scenes of Dong-Ju stuffing whole eggs into his mouth and other food is somewhat off putting - I have seen this in other series and I am not sure if it is meant to be comedic.

I am struggling to continue to watch it - every scene seems to be the same now.

Park Bo-gum certainly earns his money - it is a very active part for him to play - if I continue to watch it will only be for him.

I like the drama of Kimsohyun from 2021 when I was only 17 years old. Just watched School 2015 and fell in love with her from that time... Now, She is doing Ji Han-Na role and I loving it... Because it is the first time where she is portraying Action Hero + Romance Lead lady... It is amazing... Can't believe she is only 26 years old. 😢... Her others Notable work like: 1. River where the moon rises 2. School 2015 3. Pure love / Unforgettable 4. Bring it on, Ghost 5. Love alarm Season 1
