Transmitzvah

It's definitely not a comedy. The film is very strange, at times surrealistic. The actors are good, but the story and the characters are not really interesting. The main character- Mumy- is quite annoying and whining, which makes it difficult to empathise with her. Not a fun film to watch. My husband fell asleep in the middle, I managed to see till the end. Not sure what the film tried to say- maybe that family and religion come before gender? It was shown at Cannes festival, I have no idea why. One positive point- I liked the music, it was fun to hear a trans singer singing old Yiddish songs.
