Liked the cutthroat fashion business industry exposure and the inventive moves needed to survive and excel. That and an authentic romance too plus the family drama all amidst pretty people. Light-hearted throughout where honesty , ingenuity and perseverance wins the day. Fun and uplifting. I enjoyed this tremendously being a former runway model.
Addison Connors (Rebecca Dalton) works at her father's shoe repair shop. She suddenly gets a chance at her dream job as the assistant to shoe designer Delaney Diaz (Alexandra Castillo) who has a reputation for being a horrible boss. Right away, she impresses Austin Strickland (Olivier Renaud) who seems to have pull with Delaney.
It's a Hallmark movie doing a version of Devil wears Prada except Addie is actually trying. There is no way that this could match its superior. It doesn't help that the comparison is always at the top of mind. Now, I don't know anything about lady's shoes, but nothing really excites me about her designs. To be fair, the premise is that Delaney has been on the decline. A lot of this seems like the worst kind of sitcom writing. Addie is dumb at the worst times. I'm not happy with any of these characters in this movie. I'm not sure why Claudia shows up and does that. I'm not sure about anything in this movie.

Rebecca Dalton (Addi) and Olivier Renaud (Austin) are both lovely and while I liked them, something about this Hallmark romance didn't hit with me. The concept was decent...but things like the Jekyll and Hyde boss and the ridiculous men's shoe fashions were ridiculous. And can I say how wasteful it is to trash all of those shoes?
It seemed a bit ridiculous for Addi to go from repairing shoes, to assistant to the owner/designer, to designing her own line of shoes. I also was pretty confused about the respecting the importance of family, yet not having a good work life balance.
The story starts with Addi working in her father's shoe repair shop with him and her sister...but dreaming of being a shoe designer. She ends up getting an entry level position for her favorite designer's company, which works almost immediately into a job as the designer's personal assistant. She meets the designer's nephew, Austin, who does or for her company. The romance is between Addi and Austin...but not without a lot of nonsense in between.
Not really a recommendation from me, but I do like the cast.

I am an avid Hallmark fan / deciphle. And don't understand why they keep producing movies with the same tired old plots. This movie had such potential great cast and a refreshing concept. What does Hallmark do is use the same tired old writing. The villain as the head of the company gives a one dimential performance acting very mean rotten and no ceo traits. This is typical of how Hallmarks portrays this type of character. The leads are good but have do little time acting together makes no sense. They have charisma yet the writer focuses on the one act villain / owner.
Why does Hallmark keep doing this?
I keep waiting for them to get better but sorry to say it doesn't look good.

7.7 stars.
How many times is this woman going to mess up? She has always wanted to be in the shoe design industry, and this is her chance.
She gets hired as an assistant for one of the leading shoe designers in New York City. This is very much like the Devil wears Prada, the boss is just like Streep. This assistant has the gift of fashion in shoe design. It's a copycat with obviously a much lower budget.
So what do I think this movie? Well, it's actually not too bad. The male co-worker, leading man is a very suave sort, but I like his character; he is smooth and quite charismatic. The lead female is very pretty, but her character is so inept. She makes so many dumb mistakes. I don't know why she decided to do this job after she majorly screws up twice. If I were the Streep counterpart, I would've fired her immediately. I don't care how good her style is.
It's predictable, but I still enjoyed it for the leads and their screen presence and chemistry and the Fahey wannabe.
