Pechi is a complete disappointment for horror lovers. Labeled as a spine-chilling thriller, it fails miserably to deliver any real scares. The so-called jump scares are laughably predictable, and the plot feels like a recycled mess with zero originality. Watching it felt more like a comedy spoof than a horror film. If you're a true fan of the genre, skip this one without hesitation. Don't fall for the paid hype circulating on YouTube-this is a clear case of marketing over substance. Save your time and sanity.
The creators labeled this Tamil film as "folklore horror," and while it started off decently with a solid story foundation, that was unfortunately where the positives ended.
The plot had potential: the witch 'Pechi' terrorized villagers in ancient times, sacrificing their infants in her quest for immortality. After being captured and confined in the forest, she is freed by trekkers, emerging more powerful than before, and begins to hunt them down with a vengeance.
However, the film suffers from poor direction, and although some camera work was visually impressive, it was misused by both the director and editor. The screenplay is riddled with inconsistencies, and the acting feels amateurish, reminiscent of a fresh acting school graduate. I hold B. Ramachandran accountable for this misstep. At least it wasn't the typical lengthy Indian film, clocking in at a more manageable duration. Nothing scarry here!
I'm puzzled as to why the 1TAMILMV site refers to this as being "directed by the talented director, Krishna Marimuthu." Can anyone explain?

🌟 Pechi Movie Review - Waiting Eagerly for Part 2! 🌟
Just finished watching Pechi, and I must say - what a gripping ride! From the very first scene to the final moment, the movie didn't give a single chance to feel bored. The storyline, emotions, horror elements, and background score were all perfectly balanced.
The characters felt real, and the emotional depth kept me connected throughout. The forest backdrop and visuals created a unique atmosphere that made the movie even more intense.
Pechi is not just a horror film - it's an experience. Every scene had meaning, and the suspense was well-maintained. I truly enjoyed every minute of it.
✨ Can't wait for Part 2! Hoping the team comes back soon with a sequel that takes the story even further. Full support to the cast and crew for creating such a memorable film. 💯🔥

Except actor Bala's acting and that of the main actor and excellent cinematography with superb shots nothing else holds the movie. The ghost itself is not scary enough even for a child. Pechi in tamil means to talk and the movie is just people talking. The flashback part is okaish but not good enough. The one playing the character of the photographer gives us some comic effect and is a natural for his role. But actress Gayathri's character just irritates you too the core. Overall you can watch it for bala's acting and the wonderful cinematography which is the highlight of the movie. The ghost itself is weak and jump scares are less than needed. The movie moves at a very slow pace. The ending though expected by me is an unexpected one. The ghost just comes and stands at a distance hoping to scare you for doesn't even make you flinch a bit. It's more like jurassic park than a conjuring type of a movie.

Ultimate movie. Scary and awesome. I really know why people have less than 10 star. But really it's actual horror and scary movie. And concept of movie is super awesome.
