Spoiled heiress loses fortune and her life gets totally downgraded. The good news in this movie was that going from luxury to nothing took 9 minutes including opening credits. Some movies with this premise stretch that out in the hopes of earning humor points. June learns some humility almost as quickly, so there is not a lot of time to really hate her character. From there we go into the phase of learning about the work ahead (but that never actually manifests). No blue jeans yet. But the competition challenge complete with trash talk comes pretty quickly. And so we have another Hallmark movie where someone enters a contest with experienced competition but she is a totally novice in the required skills. And not just one category, but several.
This movie takes an interesting approach to how June's new neighbors adjust to her. They are far more sympathetic to her than in the usual stories where a high society person meets small town folk.
The pacing in the middle is laid back and some might consider it stagnant. One would expect the arrival of the fair contests would be the climax, but it seemed a little early and then there was a complete turn of direction with a few unexpected things before the obvious ending. While there were some unexpected things, this part was rushed a little.
The acting is OK, but unrealistically upbeat, which for me wasn't necessarily negative. The dialog has good moments. There isn't much heavy tension. The approaching contests were about all in that category. In the category of makeup, there was at least one scene where Sweetin didn't look good in close ups.
Jodie Sweetin's June is pretty much what you would expect from Jodie. There is little character development of June other than what takes place in the first 10 minutes. Corey Sevier fills the part of her romantic interest but doesn't add much of a counterpoint.

The basic storyline is the usually enjoyable girl has an empty life, lifestyle changes, finds new life. There could have been more background of Jodie's character prior to her move, more punch to her transition, maybe some flashbacks to build her character, more conflict, more comedy keeping it light and fun. The biggest distraction for me personally, is the awful wig that Jodie Sweetin wears through the entire film. She's a very attractive woman, so why? The other issue I had is why all the dollar store garland throughout the farmhouse. Was the budget for hair and sets really that low? Not a waste of time, but it could have been better.
Someone please tell Jodie Sweetin shellac hairspray went out of style with Woodstock '69. Her hair wouldn't move in a hurricane or tornado. She pretty and talented but I just stop looking at her hair. It is just so unnatural. I love all Hallmark movies and have seen her previous ones. Sorry this is too short to post; but someone needs to tell her. I know Hallmark can do better, and this was just sloppy. I enjoy both of these actors, but this was ridiculous. The lack of chemistry was present, and her overacting was full-on cringe. The quality of this movie was horrendous. And please TURN DOWN THE "BACKGROUND" MUSIC.
Over the top acting (by most), choppy storyline, bland chemistry, goofy music clips... I am not looking for Jane Austen intuitiveness when I watch Hallmark, these movies are my mental release, but I do appreciate good writing and directing - followed by believable acting.
This movie was reminiscent of an 80's sitcom, that had 1 season. I have seen an improvement in Hallmark movies of late; a little more grit, depth and reality. This movie did not make the cut.
To produce this, edit it and think it's up to par, is a major oversight. I actually like these actors, just not their performance in this particular film.

The plot sounded promising but quickly went down hill into a way too predictable, even for Hallmark storyline. An heiress, June, played by Jodie Sweetin, loses her fortune, but inheirits a rural farm. She meets her handsome neighbor, Bart, played by Corey Sevier. Bart helps June adapt to rural farm life. A Huge DISTRACTION is the downright awful wig that Jodie Sweetin wears throughout the entire movie! The sets are horribly decorated with dollar store sunflower garland everywhere throughout the farmhouse. The plot is so predictable and supporting characters are annoying! The only reason I gave it 2 stars was for Corey Sevier, who did the best he could with the dialogue he received (I've enjoyed him in many otherHallmark movies). There is really no romance instead the storyline focuses on the heiress's transition to farm life, in other words, it's a poor rendition of Green Acres, and like the TV show, this movie also includes a pet pig.
One thing that drives me crazy about all the Hallmark movies is that they start to drag and get repetitive in the middle of the movie and then HURRIEDLY RUSHES THROUGH the final 5 MINUTES to wrap up all the loose ends to the movie! ITS VERY HURRIED AND RUSHED and feels incomplete!
A poorly written and BORING script, poorly acted (except for Corey Sevier who did a good job), AND OH THAT HORRIBLE WIG Jodie Sweetin wore that was such a DISTRACTION equals a MOVIE DISASTER! Please cast Corey Sevier in better movies please!
