I had been rather disappointed in the first two (Inheritance Lost and Deadly Prescription), and was hoping for some improvements in this one. Is it some great, edge of your seat movie? No. Does it have flaws and things that make you say, "That wouldn't happen!" Yes. However, it had some good things going for it and overall I rather enjoyed it.
Jodie Sweetin has a good voice, but it always feels like they force in the singing, and the songs usually aren't very good. This had one song that fit perfectly with the story and was well done, from the actual song to the costume and staging of it.
The Edgar Allen Poe theme also gave this movie a boost, as well as the college setting.
Usually there is some pretty awful acting, and this one was no exception. They limited the aunt's screen time, which helped, but the biggest offender this time around was Dean Simpson. Who watches that performance and gives it the green light?
I also want to know who chooses the clothes for these actors. Jane's outfits are typically bad, but why are John's clothes so tight?! How is anyone supposed to take him seriously as a detective dressed like that? He looked really nice in a button-up shirt, and then I realized it was because it fit! If a button-up is too tight it would be gaping at the buttons or popping open, so they had to get one that was his actual size! Minor rant.

Singer and sleuth Jane Da Silva (Jodie Sweetin)goes undercover at her alma mater to solve a mystery. Her college boyfriend , Anthony Germaine, (Rainbow Sun Francks--yes, thats his name)has a suspicion that he may have witnessed someone covering up a murder that took place years ago during the college's annual Edgar Allan Poe Festival. With the help of Detective John Cameron, (Stephen Huszar), they try to unravel this bizarre mystery that doesn't make sense. Also, another weird unrelated incident is that Jane's mother died in a hit and run accident on the same night making this investigation more tragic for Jane.
This movie is dull and boring and the part of the boyfriend is so miscast, he looks so much older than Jane. Also, there is absolutely no chemistry and no feelings emerge from the actors to convince the viewer that Jane and Anthony ever had a serious relationship, this was more of a hire to fulfill a diversity quotient. And it's laughable how Jane thinks an obviously fake wig is believable disguising her true identity---SHEESH!! The final outcome will leave you baffled why a simple common sense solution at the time of the incident, and something far more respectable; would have prevented the whole situation from ever happening in the first place. It's a mystery all right, as the viewer wonders why they've wasted their valuable time watching this absurd movie!!!!

I usually like this series but this episode was awful. It started out ok but the end was so bad, some of the acting was terrible. I was very disappointed in this episode. I know you can do better. The explanation at the end was so unbelievable, is this the best you can do?
It started out good, but then the end just didn't fit with the story line. Someone dies and you don't report it, even though it was not on purpose, come on! Who does this? And these are supposedly educated people. Don't waste your time on this episode, I hope the next one is better if there is a next one. Not sure I will watch.

I love Edgar Allen Poe, so I really enjoyed this Jane Mystery with it's Poe Fest backdrop. I even thoroughly enjoyed the songs with Poe themes like the tell tale heart.
An old college boyfriend from Jane's past resurfaces with a photo that looks to be of a masked figure putting a body in the trunk fifteen years prior. Jane ropes the righting wrongs group into investigating, but they run into some immediate stumbling blocks in that all the reported missing persons from that time have been found.
Jane goes undercover at her former college as a vocal instructor preparing a class for the upcoming Poe Fest and to do some digging.
I loved the atmosphere of the Poe Fest, which was my favorite part of this episode...making it my favorite Jane Mystery to date. While still not my favorite Hallmark mystery, I am enjoying seeing where this one goes and it is certainly different than the others.

Singer and part time sleuth Jane Da Silva (Jodie Sweetin) finds herself putting on a dark wig and returning to her old college as a music teacher.
All because an old flame Anthony Germaine while going through some old photos from fifteen years earlier. Thinks that he might had witnessed a murder taking place. The photo has a masked figure and brings back long forgotten memories.
It all seems far fetched but maybe a member of the college staff from that time might have done something bad.
This Hallmark Mystery is not great but is also not a total fail.
Jane is an awfully unsubtle interrogator. She might as well b carrying big red painted sign, undercover operative.
The killer is easy to guess, the reasonings are a bit mindless.
