Homestead: The Series

I watched the movie...really enjoyed it...I overlooked the religious undertones cos the plot was engrossing...the acting was decent and believable.... I saw there's episodes of a series out as well.... I thought 'Oh goodie'...but wait...I must join some Angel Network...subscribe and such....but wait...I'm in Cape Town...South Africa...I can't join...Just let me watch the goddamn stuff man...you think it's gonna make me pine over your show...it's gonna make me lose interest more like it....in this day-and-age with so many choices.... I'll soon forget...You have a fantastic show...now stop with the circus please.

I fully enjoyed the movie and the 2 episodes in the series! I see reviewers complaining about religious themes but it's almost like this show was made by Angel Studios.. you know the studio that kind of focuses on shows and movies about religion! Go figure lol! But still, even with the religious themes it does not take away from the action and suspense. You begin to grow attached to some characters, and you start to despise others! You start to take sides but then start wondering if everyone is showing their true intentions. It's a great show and I was kept at the edge of my seat at the end of the second episode and can't wait for the third!

Got to be honest, I'm thoroughly puzzled why so many of these reviews are negative towards a faith-based series... It's on Angel Studios: a faith-based streaming app.

I loved the movie! And I absolutely love the show!! If I could leave 15 stars I would! I love the character progressions from movie to series. And I'm especially grateful for a movie - turned - series with strong faith roots. There are so many secular shows and movies out there with death and empty "promises of hope" that they're suffocatingly depressing and sad - there is no real hope without Jesus. Now the faith community finally has a high-quality series with high profile actors that leaves the viewer wanting more. Can't wait for episodes three through six!!

This is terrible after the quality of the movie. You feel you HAVE to move on to the series because the movie just... ends. Don't fall for the trap! This may be the worst movie follow up ever. Angel Studios took me with the movie!!!!! The actors in the show are not the same as the movie and 'kids' now look like adults. All of a sudden there are huts and solar panels on the homestead... where did this stuff come from? The movie was very easy to believe in, the show not so much. Also, the show became so much about God and the Bible that is was hard to watch. Why the change and why not make the movie a closed loop since it was so good?

With so many meaningless movies out there I was so glad to see one that actually teaches lessons and actually could show the world what might and very well could happen! There are so many good lessons in this movie and I hope to watch the series as well. The show is very similar to The Walking Dead without the zombies or very similar to the series Jericho, which was one of the best shows I remember ever watching unfortunately, this is not on a major network or a major streaming app as Angel Studios caters to a certain audience that I do hope the series and the movie will actually end up on Paramount+ or some other apps in the future.
