Not only the film's plot but also how it was filmed illustrate the classic example from Theory of Games - The Prisoner's Dilemma, because actors were not aware of each other performances, mostly filmed separately.

Alternative Versionen
Cut that is generally considered finished final version of the movie is a second edition. Rather rare first edition was shown only once and has some differences:
much lower quality of sound which is of diverse quality and volume;
digital copies of this version are in 4:3 aspect ratio which takes a special software intrusion to show them properly;
original voice (of bad quality) of Leonid Syplyi can be heard under the dub;
on approx. 03:53 there's a whole shot absent of Detective walking through corridors (just after the shot of him walking on some stairs);
right after "Sorry, pal" line is delivered by Burchill an extremely inappropriate music starts which isn't in the final, second version at all;
there's no music on the (SPOILER) throat slit shot;
Sergey Twob isn't credited as a "sound consultant";
"Cast" section of the end credits is badly displaced geometrically;
there are certain problems with sections "costume supervisors", "music editors", "chief-" and "assistant lighting technician", "special-" and "special makeup effects", "transportation captains" and "special thanks", mostly they're wrongly placed in one line;
"Special Thanks" section of the end credits misses Dead or Alive, Don Coscarelli, John Carpenter, Patrick Lussier, Francis Ford Coppola and Michael Sembello;
post-credits scene has sound (more like noise).
