The opening doesn't hold back. Brutal, bleak, raw. The series wastes no time with formalities: it dives into a mother's pain, an unbearable loss, and an impossible phone call. From there, The Nameless unfolds as a psychological thriller with supernatural overtones. It draws from Balagueró's original film but dares to take its own path. The result is uneven but compelling, with powerful moments alongside others that lose momentum.
One of its strengths lies in the emotional depth. There's space here to sit with the characters, especially Claudia, portrayed with grit by Miren Ibarguren. Her face tells the story of someone broken yet determined. She steps out of her usual roles to deliver a deeply wounded mother. Rodrigo de la Serna adds gravity and restraint, though his character could have been more fleshed out. Milena Smit fares better in scenes that lean into the supernatural than in those grounded in everyday reality.
Visually, the show makes a strong bet: cold tones, shadows heavier than the characters, music that at times overwhelms, at others enhances. Some scenes evoke classic horror, others lean more into '90s-style suspense. Occasionally, this visual ambition affects pacing-some episodes spiral without fully landing. But when it works, the effect is magnetic.
The supernatural creeps in slowly, like a crack forming in reality. Not all the subplots hit their mark-some feel forced, and the mystery loses steam near the end. Still, there are truly haunting scenes where grief and the unexplained collide. That's the heart of the show: a mother who, between science and the impossible, chooses to believe her daughter might still be alive.
The Nameless doesn't try to outdo the film, and that's why it works. It uses the original story as a springboard and dares to tell something new. It's not flawless, but it aims to explore trauma, redemption, and the struggle to let go of someone when you're not sure they're really gone. It's a show for those who prefer atmosphere to jump scares, emotional scars over horror tropes.

Intriguing and unsettling horror thriller and based on the British novel "The Nameless" by Ramsey Campbell. A spine-tingling series containing a convincing sense of impeding dread and being an essentially effective terror thriller. Starring a doctor , Miren Ibarguren, whose daugher is missing. Seven years later, she receives a phone call from someone claiming to be her daughter , asking for her mother to come find her before they kill her . Other mysterious clues show up, further indicating Claudia's daughter is indeed still alive , and very much in danger. She is helped by a run-down, ex-cop : Rodrigo de la Serna and by the mysterious Milena Smit, they put together the traces to discover Angela's whereabouts. Along the way, they discover a sect of the occult with conceal things and dark secrets.
A suspenseful and frightening series displays relentless horror, thrills, intrigue, shocks, hard-edge drama , twists and turns. Writers use that uneasy non-knowledge for both horror and occultism, introducing brief psychological remarks. The series develops itself from a mysterious phone call in which the disappeared daughter tells her: 'Mummy, it's me, come and get me'. This is an inferior TV remake in 6 episodes from the successful film " Los sin nombre" (1999) directed by Jaume Balaguero starring Emma Vilarasau, Tristan Ulloa, Karra Elejalde. This new rendition was also written by Jaume Balaguero, along with showrunners Manuel Gancedo and director Pau Freixas himself. There are decent performances from a large cast of prestigious actors, such as Miren Ibarguren who overacting at times, Rodrigo de la Serna, Milena Smit , veteran Susi Sánchez, Pablo Derqui, Francesc Garrido, Daniel Pérez Prada, Elvira Minguez, among others.
There's also a tense and strange musical score by Arnau Bataller, a prestigious composer expert on dark atmosphere. The series was professionally directed by Pau Freixas, though it has some flaws and failures. Freixas is a nice craftsman , working both television and Cinema, such as : Todos mienten, Se quien eres, Dias de Navidad, The Red Band Society, Benvinguts a la familia, Heroes , Cámara Oscura, among others. Rating: 6/10. Acceptable and passable, but frankly inferior to the original.
