Could be good, but it's not.

Could be a intersting movie but with insufficient purpose. The love for cinema could have been explored much better, the moive only shows the nostalgia for the time when things "worked out" and the "love" for cinema are only a few posters out there. The characters are not well explored and the plot ends up getting a little tiring, but it explores the troubled father and son relationship well (without dialogues, only the silence represents it)

There is no development of the characters, but I believe they did it on purpose, the empty spaces and the filming are very well done and the movie has a few cool scenes, however not a memorable movie...

An example of brazilian's cinema potential

The photography, the interpretations, and the background of the movie are just amazing. Iberê Carvalho tells a history full of nostalgia, in a very sensitive way, but without being boring. The context in that movie is really important, in a country that doesn't value it's own history and patrimonies. It's a masterpiece, a really beautiful movie, and shows us how much national cinema must be valued and preserved at all cost.

Great movie, brilliant actors, genial director! Masterpiece comparable only to "Cinema Paradiso". At the end the main characters would not be able to save the "last drive in cinema "in Brazil- the symbol of their broken family and youth. They succeed though to restore something much more precious - the love in their relationship and to forgive each other.
