"Purna Bahadur ko Sarangi" is one of the best Nepali movies in recent memory, especially for its storytelling and powerful acting. The story pulls you in, making you feel every emotion of Purna Bahadur's journey. The actors are incredible-each performance feels real and heartfelt. But what really stands out is the music; the songs breathe life into the film, adding depth and emotion to each scene. This movie is a true gem, showing just how much heart Nepali cinema can offer. It's a beautiful mix of story, performance, and music, leaving a lasting impact on anyone who watches it. This movie is a true gem that shows just how much heart Nepali cinema can have.
Plot (8/10)
The movie delivers a strong, emotional storyline that resonates with Nepalese audiences through its portrayal of struggle and perseverance. However, the sudden exit of Batuli (Purna Bahadur's wife) feels unexplained and leaves a gap in the plot. Despite this, the film remains engaging with its relatable themes and emotional depth.
Cast (6/10) The cast shows potential, but Prakash Saput's portrayal of a middle schooler is hard to believe. At 34 years old, his performance as a child feels awkward and unrealistic, making it difficult to take his character seriously. His acting also falls flat, which undermines the impact of an otherwise promising cast.
Writing and Dialogue (8.5/10) The dialogue is mostly convincing, with a few awkward lines that are easy to overlook, especially during the emotional climax. Overall, the writing enhances the story well.
Direction, Editing, and Pace (7/10) The direction effectively captures the story and village setting, though more time could have been spent showcasing the environment for a stronger connection. The camera angles were well-chosen, but the pacing was slow, with a lengthy buildup. Additionally, the use of loud, unnecessary sounds at times was distracting, taking away from the overall experience.
Overall (7/10) Conclusion From a Nepalese cinema standard, this is a solid 9/10 movie and certainly deserves a spot among the top 10 Nepali films. However, the claim that it's the best movie ever made in Nepal is overrated. As a frequent movie watcher, I believe films like Kalo Pothi and others are stronger. On an international scale, it's an average film with several shortcomings, likely earning a rating around 5.5. Still, if you're watching with family, it's definitely worth a watch.

Realistic Story, beautiful screenplay, top notch acting from each and every character, highly professional writing, eye watering moments in every minutes the movie was played. Must watch for everyone. The movie itself is made for the century. It must be dubbed in every language of the world. Must watch movie for dads around the world who sacrifices their everything for their childrens. The story tells about how poor people can dream big to achieve everything the world is offering. The whole nation is crying after watching such an emotional movie in Nepal. Nepal is famous for Lord Buddha's birth and the Mount Everest. Nepal slowly will be famous for the movie too. Lately but surely. It must be dubbed and reached to every single family in the world. Movie should not be missed.

Purna Bahadur Ko Sarangi** *Purna Bahadur Ko Sarangi* follows the story of a struggling father, Purna Bahadur, who earns a living by playing the *sarangi* in his village. After being abandoned by his wife due to their poor circumstances, Purna is left to raise his son alone. Despite the hardships, he is determined to provide his son with a better future through education. The film beautifully captures the deep bond between father and son, as they navigate a life of poverty, with music as their source of hope and resilience.
If there is a Nepali movie that truly deserves to be nominated for the Oscars Best International Feature Film ages after Caravan and Kagbeni, then this is it! I wouldn't be surprised even if they win the Oscars for such a heart warming movie. It's that good! And the best part is that it's a commercial success as well and not just limited to critical acclaim.
