Haridasara Dinachari

This movie is not a biopic. There's no story. There's no plot. There's no drama. This movie isn't about all that. It's an attempt to give a glimpse of Sri Purandara Dasaru's day, in dasaru's own words (keerthanes). Every keerthane is carefully selected and the essence of bhakti is beautifully captured. The keerthanes are sung beautifully by Sri Vidyabhushanaru himself. The movie is an enactment of Sri Purandara Dasaru's famous keerthanes. The movie is intentionally paced slow and intentionally omits backup scores (vadyagalu) for the keerthanes to accentuate the essence of the lyrics of Dasara padagalu.

A big congratulations to Girish Prabhu and the entire crew on putting together this amazing masterpiece together ! It is perfect in every aspect; art, music, depiction of Indian heritage, values of life and is immersed with devotion, surrender and love for the supreme 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 Thank you for bringing alive the life of true hari bhakta - what was Sri Purandaradasa's natural state will become a sadhana for many of us after watching this masterpiece 🙏🏾 Being from Northern India, I didn't know about Sri Purandaradasa! Enjoyed every moment of it 🙏🏾 Thank you for you all your efforts 🙏🏾

It was a great treat to watch this show in Melbourne in one of the old renowned ASTOR theatre and an amazing piece of work by Girish Nagaraja!!!

A day in the life of Dasaru, gave us a great insight into the 15th/16th century, especially on the occasion of Sri Ramanavami it was a musical treat to enjoy the simple "padagalu" by dasaru and grasp the essence of the message through the eloquent voice of Dr. Vidyabhushan through Carnatic music.

In summary a great treat to every human soul, who enjoys music and appreciates the Kannada language.

On the flip side, could have tried going in a bit more depth in the routine of Dasaru, however there is always a next time.
