Reditus

From the opening instrumental note to the closing scene, I was captured by the beauty and poignancy of this short film. While the story is heartbreaking there is a touch of hope and faith woven in, pointing towards a brighter tomorrow.

Mr. Bouldin has done an incredible job of capturing the internal struggle of a soldier suffering from PTSD. His acting portrays a man who is vulnerable, sad, and broken, yet not defeated. There is an underlying strength to the character, in spite of losing not only brothers in arms but his wife, as well. As an audience member, I felt his fear, pain and, eventually, hope.

This is simply a beautiful, beautiful film!

Wow, that was Really Amazing!!!

I found myself experiencing all of the emotions of the character, which really surprised me since this story line has been told so many times before.

This film really does draw you in, with such incredible acting and cinematography, along with a perfectly done story line. It really shows how something can seem to be so simplistic, yet actually be Extremely Deep and Meaningful.

Somehow this film manages to accomplish all of that in such a short time period and without any dialogue at all, Brilliantly, leaving just the Pure Raw Emotions to cut through all of the (what would have been) chatter... in order to do the work.

This makes it hit so much deeper than any of the others that I have ever seen before.

I found myself yearning for more at the end, yet at the same time, felt strangely satisfied for having the experience.

Absolutely brilliantly written and directed. Stephen is phenomenal!

The movie brings tears, hope and anticipation for more. The no dialogue is incredible with the acting that is phenomenal. I love the tribute and the active charity to horse abuse and support to save the horses.

The flash backs are heartbreaking knowing what the damage of PTSD causes to our military and their families. The imagery and direction of the film is well thought out. The natural lighting helps set the tone and emotions of the viewer. This movie is very authentic to its audience and families dealing with trauma. Not to spoil the ending, I just have tears.

Despite having no dialogue, except a radio transmission in a flashback, this short says so much. It conveys the problems a soldier can endure after returning home and suffering from PTSD. It's enough to break up a marriage regardless of how much love for one another we have. It's a haunting film with great performances from the two leads. It is beautifully filmed with many heartbreaking emotional moments. It may be a difficult watch for some. Something like this could be turned in to a feature length film, having so many areas to explore.
