I remember watching the first Zootopia film and thinking it was an absolute blast of a time so I was pretty excited to finally hear the news of a sequel to the first film. I truly think this second film is better than the first film and I really loved the direction they took the film with this story. I just absolutely love the animation style in these films and these movies feel so fresh and unique as well and I truly love the chemistry between Nick and Judy and they are easily my favorite parts of the film and I really think all these characters in this film are great. I really like how the story of this film does something new and allow us to see our two leads doing something different and new. There's also some really great action moments throughout the film and I absolutely love the action throughout the movie and it's animated so smoothly. I also found all the references to be hilarious in this film and there's some absolutely amazing jokes in this movie and some jokes I did not expect them to do at all but I was dying. I also think the movie has some really strong emotional moments and there's so many scenes which have so much substance and emotion which elevate this film even higher for me. Just a few negatives for me from this film is I feel like the movie was very predictable at times and there's some moments which were super easy to predict especially the twist near the end of the film and I also think our main villains were kinda lame and they don't really do a whole lot to this film for me. My last tiny complaint is sometimes the film relies too much on the comedy aspects and some of the jokes just didn't land for me but I think a majority of them were really great though. I think this movie is just a ton of fun and it's a great time especially seeing this world and our characters again and this is easily worth the watch in my opinion.
I've been curious about this film for a while and it had such an interesting premise to me that I had to see this one. I think this film is absolutely heart wrenching and just throws so much emotional moments towards you that it gets you really close to crying or crying already. Brendan Fraser is just absolutely phenomenal and truly delivered yet another absolutely remarkable performance and the moments between Mia and Kikuo had me absolutely so emotional and really just elevated this film even more for me. The story here is absolutely beautiful and it's really a fresh concept which has you really thinking about the storyline going here and how Hikari truly had a brilliant idea with a beautiful work of cinematography and visuals to deliver this film which elevates it even higher for me. I really love the film delves the audience into more about the Japanese culture as that's something I'm not too knowledge about and I love how the film portrays the culture of Japan and all the beauty's and how you can't uncover all of its secrets even if you lived there for 100 years like the film states. I really love the score for the film as well and there's such beautiful moments when the film relies on the score to help bring out more emotional moments with beautiful and astonishing visuals. I feel like the film was a little predictable but that's not anything bad about the film though I feel like sometimes I could just see where things were headed pretty easily I feel like I didn't mind that due to this incredible and emotional story that were following throughout the movie. It's so emotional and wholesome seeing Brendan Fraser's character of Phillip and how he's trying to just help these people if he can possibly can and how he's going out of his way to make sure these people can have memories that can change them for the better. I honestly just think this movie was absolutely fantastic and it had me balling my eyes out near the end of the film due to how beautiful this story truly was and hats off to Brendan Fraser for another incredible performance. This is definitely worth watching in my opinion for sure.
So I was a massive fan of the first wicked film and thought it was absolutely brilliant so I had some good expectations going into this. I know most people will hate this review but I just didn't find it as good as the first film at all and found it to be a bit underwhelming. Let me start with my positives for the film Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo both deliver absolutely fantastic and incredible performances and the chemistry between them on screen is truly phenomenal. I also think there's a really nice story with their friendship in the film and them starting to rift away from each other in the movie. There's some really amazing sequences in the film with some beautiful and heart wrenching moments between our two leads especially with that ending which had me really emotional. I also really enjoy the darker elements in the story as well and that really stood out to me with bringing this story to the big screen it really helped elevate the film for me. The soundtrack is also great for the most part and there's some songs that really stand out to me and sound phenomenal but some songs just didn't land at all with me to be honest and were quite forgettable. Some negatives and mixed opinions for me definitely has to be the pacing of the movie because it really just drags on at moments and some moments just really drag on for way too long and the movie also goes all over the place at times. I also don't like how the movie looks so ugly in moments and I wish they would've been more vivid and to use more of this vivid imagery to showcase the world and the lightning also looked really off to me with moments as well. I think this movie also should've been way shorter and the movie really just drags on and this definitely should've been cut down a good amount in my opinion and the CGI also really looks weird to me at certain points in the film as well. I love Michelle Yeoh as well but she just delivers one of the worst performances of the year and it was absolutely a horrible and laughably bad performance if I'm honest. Not a whole lot of the cast really stood out to me besides our two main leads and maybe Jeff Goldblum as well because he's always great but overall I ended up not liking this movie as much as the first film and I left kinda disappointed.
