  • Loved it!

I don't understand the negative reviews here. The series is supposed to be fun, amazing, strange stories. What do people wanted to see in there? Superhero stories? Or some horror kinds? Or weird stuff that would shock them, boggle them? These are sweet, strange, amazing stories that make you feel good about life, about your relations, about the sweet stuff in life. Not all stories, all series need to be shocking or horror based. This one has its own charm for which I loved it. That's why seven out of 10. Chill guys'.

  • Bad story, script, terrible action!!

I had quite high expectations from this movie going by what the director has directed in the past. Think of Brahmastra, wake up Sid , Yeh, Jawani Hai Deewani, etc. But the tough lesson learned with this movie was that no matter how good at Director, when they work for Yash Raj productions. There forced to turn into puppets, merely puppets. Even if that means the movie goes bonkers, it seems the top guys at Yashraj fiddle too much with the production values, story, scripting, overall production, leaving a Director with no choice but to follow suit. In my observation, I have seen it over and over only with the Raj films productions. Because guess what, the same director did great movies when he worked with Dharma productions, for example. This movie War 2 has such terrible horrifying, logic, defying action sequences that you want to bury your head in the sand. Take the action in the air on top of a plane with the two main male characters fighting without any wires, slipping from the front to the back, vice versa, but nobody falls off. And so many other logic, gravity, defying, nonsense, action sequences. The only saving grace of the movie is The action sequences in Spain maybe. But besides that it's a drag of a movie. That just goes on and on boring you wanting you to wait for the movie to end any time soon, but it does not. It goes on, and on and bore you to Boredom. I have decided I'm not going to watch any Yashraj films moving forward, period!

  • Simply boring, bad script, drag on movie!!

I like Charlie Theron as an actor. She's good in this movie, actually the only good thing in this movie. Everything else except her in this movie is so bad, boring, slow, static that I had to fast forward at least 45 minutes of the movie and still it was painful to watch. This movie could have been at least 40 minutes shorter. Even then, pouring, yes that boring. Why do they decide to make a movie when they cannot get a great script in place, especially when the part one was way better and way better written I mean. Extremely disappointing, nothing to write about. Just wanted to let others know it's not worth your time. It was a total waste of time for me.

  • Enjoyable thriller!

Yes it's a bit 90sh but then what? I watch movies for entertainment and this movie provides just that, entertainment. Right from the word go till it finishes there is no boring or dull moment. That's my idea of a good thriller. The story is simple, but it has its own suspense and twists. The key is the smart and tight screenplay which is written well. Performances by all three key actors are upto the mark. They do not disappoint in any scene. Dialogues are crisp in line with the story. I don't know why this has been given a five when it definitely deserves more. Don't go by the reviews here. Just get the popcorn sit tight and enjoy the thrill ride. Well that's my idea of a good thriller anyways, period!

  • Amazing family! Well done show

This is a must see for all fans of Hindi movies. The Roshan family members are true heros of the industry and not just on the screen and in the movies. It was insanely amazing to know the kind of massive hits songs late Roshan has given to Hindi films until 1960s. All of you would know those amazingly popular songs. Then Rajesh Roshan who has given incredible songs as well. His brother, Film maker Rakesh Roshan is a great fighter no matter how. Hrithik Roshan is a great actor and superstars and as a human being seems to be walking on the lines of his father. The documentary is well directed. And ends well. Except for the end credit visuals. Sorry, but the amazingly emotional ending that ends well with the Roshans celebrating is spoiled by the director Shashi Ranjan trying to promote himself showing himself at the shooting of the interviews with stars from the film industry in the end credits. Totally spoiled the emotion created by the documentary so far. He could have avoided that after such well edited work. Otherwise, a great documentary.

  • Great fun!! Good script!!

I went in to watch this movie without any expectations. This turned out to be a surprise, actually a very funny movie. Both the debutant actors did not disappoint at all. The script is very funny, with good punchy dialogues. The script keeps you engaged and is slick. I did not know how did two hours went by. The male lead does justice to his role and the female lead does not disappoint for her debut movie. The character artists do justice to their roles as well. Overall, a well directed movie, which does justice to the story and is fun to watch scene after scene. I had great fun and would surely recommended it!

  • Highly enjoyable!

This movie begins with a simple comic premise and goes on to turn into a little romantic, then into the pretty woman Cinderella zone and suddenly then when you are enjoying that bit, turns into something totally different and gets converted into a roller coaster ride from there on. Mikey Madison, the key female lead was fantastic. I don't know if she's done movies before, but if this was her debut, she is phenomenal and comes across as a very natural actress. The way the movie climaxes and finishes is completely unexpected. The climax scene is beautifully done as well. Overall, I really enjoyed the movie and did not want to end!

  • Beautiful movie! Better than I expected

This is a piece of brilliant filmmaking. When you watch it without expecting too much, it comes out as something completely unexpected. It takes you through the journey of its characters called the human life. All the characters portrayed in heir and respective time eras have been portrayed brilliantly, and each character feels very live and real. The visual effects, the sets, the costumes are just amazingly perfect. To top that the cinematography and the editing is first class. Tom Hanks and Robin Wright contribute their best as usual. I had no idea this movie was directed by the amazing Robert Zemeckis, although I have been such a huge fan of the Back To the Future trilogy. This is a movie to be watched by all, don't miss it. It makes up for even a great family watch. Thank you Robert for such an amazing piece of heart warming cinema. Thank you.

  • This book is copied from an 1899 Indian novel

This movie is based on a novel of the same name written in 1997 which is definitely lifted from an Indian Urdu novel titled Umrao Jaan Ada written and published in 1905. The story is exactly the same and characters converted from the old high-end brothel scenario to the geisha scenario. Everything else in the storyline and the script is exactly similar. Most American lovers of this film or the novel "memoirs of a geisha" would not want to agree as they will find it hard to digest. However, the fact remains that this novel was lifted from the 1905 Urdu language novel. Even a hit Hindi movie called Umrao Jaan was made in 1981 based on the 1905 Urdu novel. Watch it on Youtube if you are doubtful of this claim.

  • Very well made a thriller'

I enjoyed every aspect and every minute of this show. I mean what is not there to like. Great direction, tight script, mystery in every frame, suspenseful characters and the past story that lays it out...very well. It's a tense psychological thriller that does not disappoint in any ways. Cate blanchett and Kevin Kline rock in their performances. For Kevin Kline it's probably its best performance so far, at least that I have seen in a long time. He plays exactly the opposite his usual charming self and completely goes out of his comfort zone as an actor with a bewildering performance I would say. Cate does not disappoint either. Don't miss out on this one, it's totally worth your time!

  • Good but needed to finish in S1!

This is one of those series which is made well performed well by actors directed well, good screenplay, good background music, but at end of all the episodes needs to end as a limited series. Unfortunately, it does not! It especially seems to have become a thing with Netflix series. I don't know why. Needless to say it generates more revenue from viewing hours for Netflix, but on the other hand, it is becoming a torture for the viewers to not get redemption at the end of a series like this which definitely did not need another season. This story with all its good characters and a good story would have been perfect to finish at the end of season one. It is definitely going to be stretched into next season rather a boring one, I am already predicting and forecasting. Here is the request to Netflix to not stretch what does not need to be. Thanks in advance Netflix! I have taken away one star for that reason alone!

  • Brilliant Ananya Pandey, enjoyable content

Ananya Pandey has arrived, is the feeling I got while watching this entertaining short series on Amazon prime. She is simply brilliant in this one, it is her show in every which way! The story is easy to follow but different from the crowd of stories we see these days. She stuns you with amazing performance in scene after scene while she is dealing with a totally new city where she is suddenly out of her rich comfort zone environment and luxury living. Going back to basics basically but not giving up. To add to the story is great performances by the other girlfriends she makes in Mumbai who take her through a middle class lifestyle and job journey in a tough city. All in all. Ananya literally carries the program on her shoulders. This is one content that should be a game changer for her career!

  • Good fun, but why trap the poor cat in a bag?

I enjoyed the entertaining script and performances, totally worth my time as it entertained me throughout though kind of silly and stupid sometimes and the action is just amazing though too filmy and orchestrated kinds. My only big issue with the movie is the cat kept in that tight claustrophobic looking bag throughout the movie. If she was a cat lover she would never keep it in such a bag for so long. Any cat lover would find it painful to watch, even when it's all filmed and fiction. Please don't treat animals like that on the screen even when all fiction. It hurts to watch if you know what I mean.

  • Seriously? Same old same old...

How many movies has had same or similar story which ends like this one? You feel like you started watching something fresh. The two awesome actresses add charm to the script with their lovely presence. However, the story, the climax totally is a let down, as you feel you have seen it tons of time. I would have felt loss of money and time both had I seen it on big screen.i am glad I saw it at home on Amazon prime. Good direction, brilliant cinematography, good production values and brilliant performances. Unfortunately none of these can prevent it from becoming yet another cable tv night movie story that you have seen before many times!! So disappointed that inspire of it having been taken from a so called novel, the climax and the ending makes it a dud!

  • Good entertaining movie, no dull moment

I don't understand the negative comments here on IMDb.the movie was highly entertaining with a good concept, storyline and keeps you on the edge. If the people who have written negative reviews were looking for a Christopher Nolan, go and watch only Christopher Nolan. Different directors with different perspectives will always come up with something out of their idea boxes. Why single out this one? The script was good, the way the story moves, the performances were all good and very entertaining. The storyline keeps you glued to the screen for the length of the movie. The finale climax was phenomenal! I won't spoil it for you. Go watch it on Prime. It's totally worth your time if you are into entertaining thrillers. This one does a good job of it. For ones critiquing it for writing, stop bickering as if you were an Oscar winning writer, and start enjoying fun entertaining cinema as much!

  • Boring, Disappointing movie!

I was excited and looked forward to watch this one as Todd Haynes movies have all been good so far. But this one just keeps wandering left to right, back to left without going anywhere. It was almost painful to watch after 40 minutes into it but I patiently kept waiting for the script to make some sense. Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore level of performers also can't help save this one. They are both good but...the story doesn't go anywhere, literally! Seems like the director was ready with SOME sort of script and didn't work much on it, or the studio rushed into it with the big actors' names. Totally disappointing!

  • Brilliantly made, superbly acted

Watched SAM BAHADUR today. It's brilliantly presented by Meghna Gulzar. But what stays with you is the superb performance of Vicky Kaushal. There is not a single frame where you see Vicky Kaushal, but only the character of Sam Makeshaw played by him, he makes it too believable. He is probably going to win every best actor award next year for a Hindi movie. It's a tough movie to make by a creator as to what not to show from Sam's 40 illustrious years in Indian army, but instead of turning it into a plain vanilla biography, Meghna Gulzar has picked some of his top/well known achievements and scripted it into an enjoyable visual treat. Totally recommended viewing!! Do yourself a favour by watching it only on the big screen or you won't "feel" this gem of a movie.

  • The worst Harlan Coben story so far!

I had become a huge fan of Harlan Coben series after watching over 6 of his stories turned into Netflix series. This one however was painful to watch. It's not just slow burn alone. The story is too shallow. There are no usual twists and turns or a major suspense plot. It just tries to confuse and engage the viewer with excessive time jumps between a given 10-15 year period. I could guess who did it in the first episode correctly and thereafter you still keep hoping that there is more in the offing. It just keeps going episode after episode with one minor revelation at the end of each episode. My most favourite Harlan Coben story visualized on Netflix so far is THE INNOCENTS. But now am going to be extra careful with another of his novel based series. Also, Netflix can you please please start ending stories within max of 4 episodes and not drag each of your series into 8-10 episodes for no reason!! Thanks!!

  • Junk, trash of a story and bad editing

I just could not believe my eyes when i was 30 mins into this piece of trash. How many times was this story done in the 1989s in Hindi as well as South Indian movies? Why is it being repeated shamelessly in 2023? Just because it's SRK movie? Seriously? Then, another major concern is that if this is the future of Tamil-Hindi cinema collaboration, I am happy with watching selected Hindi movies only. Let me explain. Typically Tamil action movies with superstars(like Rajnikant) have each and every action scene either in slow motion or all the vehicles are running in 1.5 times to 2 times the speed, same for bikes! Doesn't stop there, it is exactly the same with dialogues, the last words of a sentence are not over and the editor keeps switching to the other person eith such a speed that even in delicate romantic scenes there is no delicacy. Till the end, it was like watching an anime movie with no respect for a cinema viewer's sensibility. No, this movie is an action movie you will say, but the rhythm of the action, dialigues and Editing is something that probably the Tamil audience is used to watching and I respect that fact. Just that the editing and rhythm is totally different from that of Hindi movies, and Hindi movie viewers are used to a certain rhythm of dialogues, movements, a certain gap between dialogues, etc etc. This Hindi movie directed by a Tamil director feels like you are watching a Tamil movie dubbed in Hindi, in each and every scene!! Throughout you get a feel you are not watching a Hindi movie at all, something is alien, something is missing. All the songs except for the end title one. Do not sound like Hindi movie songs either. If this is how the future of Tamil Hindi movies collaboration looks like, please give us a Hindi movie directed by a Hindi language understanding director only, please please!! This movie was a torture to watch. Hope you understand Hindi movie producers!! Thankyou!!

  • Why is it so slow after two episodes??

Netflix does it again. I mean what is so hard to achieve when you can wrap a story in 5 episodes that you forcefully drag to 7?? Totally beyond me. If Netflix did that it would have at least three times more watched series on its hands. It begins well, picks up pace by episode 2, then suddenly drops pace, then slower in the next episode and so on. Horrible as to how Netflix has begun to take the viewers time for granted. I mean there is so much content out there and to feel trapped in a super slowed down episode feels wretched to say it honestly! Can you please Netflix, give us more series with lesser numbers of episodes with high pace of script?? Will be grateful.

  • Should be shown in Schools!

Very unique storyline and script. Hats off to the producer for thinking of this concept for a Hindi movie. This movie ought to be shown in all Indian schools. It has the power to bring about a.dramatic change in the way young pre-teens and even teenagers would probably develop a great appreciation about so many facts about their own selves amd that it's not just them that feels like something is wrong with them and so on. Brilliantly scripted, performed by awesome actors.great direction and yes Akshay Kumar charms you as Lord Shiva. He looks phenomenally charming! Go and watch it with your family.

  • Very well made and presented

It is so difficult to create and present a story to that runs for only 30 mins and is to leave a mark on the viewers mind be it the story, performances, script, cinematography and the overall direction. All the four episodes do a great job in delivering all the above. Yes, the stories are very differently placed compared to Lust Stories 1. They are more intricate and not vanilla icecream flavoured like part 2 so not all may appreciate it but they are very well produced and directed. Hats off to the directors, the producers and Netflix for bringing this project to the screen. I liked all four stories but My favourites are Episodes 1 and 3. Episode two by Konkana Sharma was good but I didn't like it technically speaking. Too much of dark lighting, under lighting somehow looked like the director is trying to win some award somewhere, when it is not a dark story but has grey shades to the characters, that's it.

  • Beautiful movie, well presented

We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this movie. Fantastic story and script, perfect casting of characters, lovely dialogues, awesome setting and not a boring moment. What typically happens in such stories is that it either it goes over the top or ends up becoming offbeat. This one plays it perfectly in between with the right amount of scenes without becoming too heavy or ending up too light with the story captured beautifully. Performances by all the big time Hollywood actors are great. Some dialogues that take place between father son and mother daughter are delightful. I reminded them to watch again.

  • Amazing script, refreshing story

Loved the script, never a dull moment, the movie runs so fast but without the feel of an action movie though it is an action thriller. The story is refreshing and one can understand why Ayushmaan selected this script for this role. He plays the key pivotal role smoothly like he was the person he portrays. Everything else in the movie, the other performances, the twists and turns keep you on the edge and engaged. I was not expecting a great movie based on the box office results but this turned out to be a hidden gem kind of surprise. Watch it with an open mind and without expecting it to be like another Ayushmaan Khurana movie. Hoping for more such Hindi flicks!
