This is a sentence for sentence remake of the Malayalam movie - Drishyam 2. Ajay has delivered fine acting and some supporting casts are good too overall but dialogues aren't on par with the Malayalam version. Even editing, music, and build-up of the twists/suspense is better in the Malayalam movie.
Still, it's a worthy remake. If you don't want to watch the original with an English subtitle, definitely go for this movie.
Talking about the movie, I'd say that it's as good as Drishyam-1, if not better. Few can predict that story like it unfolds. You'll know when you see it.
I hope the makers go for another sequel - a part 3 - because this movie definitely has a built a good fanbase.

I can't tell a show originating from India that highlights social issues in a more real, subtle and serious way like Paatal lok has done.
Paatal lok has many stories in one series, each character has a background and their character gets depts as the story proceeds. The series has shown the ugly truth of media, the nexus of crime and police and complex Indian system. The movie raises issues of cate, religion, transgender and sexism and yet it doesn't seem "woke" at any point. It doesn't shove SJW activism down your throat, instead it highlights those issues though everyday dialogue.
In a world of shallow one-dimensional web series. Paatal Lok is a very mature entertainment.

The story is pretty predictable and there's no suprising element in it. A few average-looking women believe that they stand a change with an ultra-wealthy handsome guy, they take a series of irresponsible decisions and get trapped in his con.
I watched an interview where they say that they can't be "golddiggers" because they paid money. By that logic, Nigerian Prince scam would never work. People pay money in greed to getting much more in return. Here they want a billionaire husband so they keep paying money when asked.
This story is not "this can happen with anyone" story like they present it. The guy is no Ted Bundy.
I'm sure than a women with an iota of self-respect and decency won't ever fall for this obvious fraud.
