I never thought that I could feel more pain for Jackie Chan than I did after watching Rush Hour. I totally stand corrected. This twenty-first century rehash of a nineteen-eighties "popcorn classic" really missed for me. Jackie Chan does what he can with his character, but that kid! This smacks of Winona Ryder's absence in Godfather III that caused Sofia Coppola to be hitched to said project. Was there REALLY no one else who could have filled Smith's "kid" role? I avoided this film like the plaque (sic) for over a decade due to rumours regarding just how bad it sucked. I suspect that zero direct sequels leaves viewers wondering what became of the film's actual villain.

This one nearly broke me. I have never been a huge fan of the wet/naked bathroom footage from this series. Nevertheless, in somebody's infinite wisdom, it is perfectly acceptable to show viewers blurred-out morbidly-obese nakedness. But do not use naughty words! We will just BEEP those right out. Given the amount of not-safe-for-primetime words in this episode, that sometimes quite literally entails HALF of the spoken word. Just put a MATURE language label on this one and let reality happen! Who is watching this show and has NO problem with shower (or help-me-wipe-my-arse) scenes, but cannot tolerate those icky DIRTY words?
